Penelope

I gasp for air as my back hits the mattress, with a thud. I caress the back of my neck because of the sensation before Blake helps me back up. Every Tuesday mornings we have training sessions. I fix with my now loose ponytail then my gloves. I jump slightly as I feel his hand on my head in a gentle pat, I look up at him.
He's smiling proudly of himself.

"You're getting sloppy, pen."

I frown at his teasing mockery and I smack his hand away from me. Then immediately grabbing it and twisting it as I turn his back towards me. He groans in annoyance and I laugh slightly.
"You're the one who's getting sloppy, commander."

He swiftly moves his leg across my feet and I let go of him as I fall backwards. But before I can land on my feet, he grabs onto my wrist and pulls me back towards him. My chest hits his, and he smiles gently as he caresses my wrist still. Right by my pulse.

He leans his head down, staring into my eyes intently and I practically feel his breath on my face. My cheeks flush at the sensation, the audacity of this guy! He gently tucks a strand of my now crimson hair locks and I snap out of my thoughts as he flicks my forehead with a cocky grin.

"You're daydreaming again, Penelope."

I clench my fist before I nudge him away and I look away crossing my arms.
"If you were to stop flirting with me in the middle of training, then I'd actually focus!"

He stops me from leaving the training grounds by grabbing onto my wrist as he starts laughing.
"It's a joke, It's a joke!"
I turn towards him, staring at his face and he gently pecks my forehead with a gentle mumble.
"Come on, ruby, don't be angry with me."

I roll my eyes sarcastically as he uses the nickname Ruby, like he always does when my hair turns red. I wrap my arms around his shoulders and we lock our eyes together.
"Stop calling me Ruby and I might reconsider."

He leans in for a small peck and we soon hear an exaggerated throwing up sound. Blake sighs as he recognizes the voice and I laugh as he lets go of me and turns his head towards the door, where his little brother Lucian is standing with crossed arms. He speaks up.
"Man, get a room you two. I'm here to train not to watch a romance movie."

Blake pinches the bridge of his nose before he walks over to him and pats his head a tad aggressively.
"Oh—well sorry, your majesty, that I'm training with my girlfriend."

Lucian slips past him to prevent his lecturing and immediately rushes towards me and wrapping his arms around mine arm in a tight grip. As he points and frowns at Blake.
"It's not my fault that penny promised to show me how to use my Evol!"

I tilt my head in confusion, I did? Before I can deny his remark I notice Lucians pleading gaze and I laugh quietly before I wave a dismissive hand at Blake.
"I did promise, I totally forgot."

Blake frowns in suspicion before he sighs and takes off his combat gloves and stretches, waving at us with a cheeky smile.
"Alright then, don't have too much fun."

Lucian smiles happily at me and I wave back to Blake and he blows me a kiss before he walks out the door, leaving me with his twelve year old brother who apparently I promised too help with his Evol.
