God, it fucking reeks in this forest, I notice Penelopes disgusted look. She smells it too, something is definitely dead. God—these monsters are so disgusting and yet Valort decides to hunt us instead of them cause they believe if we die so does the sinners but us evol-users exist for a reason.

I turn my gaze back to Penelopes as she continues walking beside me, her hair is turning redder and redder by the minute. Yet there's no crimson moon tonight. I frown, it seems like something is wrong. I slowly reach and gently caress her crimson red locks and she jumps startled.

I tilt my head in questioning.
"Is it already supposed to do that?"

She notices my concerned gaze before she takes out her pocket mirror, the one I got her when we were kids. It's silver with a red rose imbued upon the case. She flicks the mirror open and looks at her reflection then she blinks a few times in shock.
"I—what the heck? It's never usually this early."

She just shrugs it off before she closes her pocket mirror and continues walking as she puts it down in her pocket, Penelope almost trips on a root of a willow tree. I grab her hand, and sigh in frustration—she's so...oblivious.
I pull her up, she lets out a cut off "yelp" in surprise. Her back then bumps into my chest.

"Look where you're going, this is the fourth time you've almost fallen."

She turns her head towards me and our eyes lock together.
"Almost." She repeats.

I pinch the bridge of my nose with another frustrated sigh, and step back from her—pulling her by the arm away from the roots. She frowns at me and I pat her head gently.
"Stop frowning, let's just go."

She sighs and reluctantly agrees.
We continue walking through the Mantra forest, searching for Lucian and the others—but no luck, when I see him again I will give him a huge scolding. What was he even thinking? Running into this big ass forest with monsters, in the middle of the fucking night?

My thoughts soon get interrupted by a faint explosion in the distance, I turn my gaze towards Penelope. She nods in agreement as she practically reads my thoughts to go investigate.
I clasp my hands together as she grips the hilt of her sword and lifts her foot and placing it on my hands, and I yank her up in the air. She grabs a huge tree branch before she climbs and stands on it.

Penelope jumps between the trees and runs really fast since her evol is activated, I run towards the sound on the ground pulling my gun from my waist belt but before I can shoot she jumps down in front of me—holding her hands up dismissively.

"Blake, Blake—It's okay, it's Gabriella and Richard."

I breathe out in relief, I thought we would have to deal with a rank S sinner cause that sound was sure loud. I place my sword back at my waist belt and we both walk towards them.
Penelope waves to them as she rushes before me with a bright smile as she sees Gabby.
