If I go, if I slip away,
Promise me you'll live each day.
Eat your meals, get your sleep,
Hold your heart, but do not weep.
Pretend like nothing ever changed,
Like my absence is just rearranged.
Act as though I never was,
Forget the pain, forget the cause.
You'll find someone better, you'll see,
Someone who's more than I could be.
But know, in silence, in the dark,
I loved you with my whole heart's spark.
I'm fading now, can't hold on tight,
But promise me, you'll be alright.
Live a life that's full and bright,
Laugh in the morning, dream at night.
Though I'm gone, I beg of you—
Stay alive for me, please do.
For though I'm lost, and though I roam,
You'll always be my one true home.
But now my path fades from view,
Still, I will love you, through and through.
So stay alive, love, don't despair,
Even if I'm no longer there.
