Raya

The bar was more so like a club after six.

There aren't any strippers but the waitresses all have to wear school girl uniforms that shows off way too much skin for my liking. I'm a little on the heavy side so anything I wear always looks skin tight on me so you can imagine how I look right now carrying a tray of food with my boobs spilling out of the tied white button up and my ass peaking out under my red plaid mini skirt.

I've only been here for an hour and I was already about to quit. These men are straight predators.

One guy had the audacity to smack my ass when I bent over to give his friend his food. I whipped around so fast I caught whiplash. If I wasn't on the clock, I would've slapped him dead in the face.

"Raya!" Amber calls for me. I turn around and raised a brow in question.

"Yes?"

"Can you take care of table four for me? I have to call the plumber, our toilets clogging again."

"Okay." She hands me her notepad and a trap of cups and water jug.

I made my way over to table number four with my head down. I wanted to make sure my clothes wasn't lifting so I didn't pay attention to the foot that was right in front of me until it was to late.

I ended up tripping on this said shoe and spilling the contents of the water everywhere on myself and whoever lap I just landed on. "Shit!" I muttered. "I'm so sorry!"

A strong cologne hit my nose and I sniffed softly to take in the intoxicating scent. I was still sitting on this person's lap but I guess he didn't mind because he didn't make a move to remove me.

Taking in his appearance i shamelessly drooled. Jamal stared down at me wearing a dark hoodie with the hood over his head. His shaggy hair spilled around his face and his enticing blue eyes hardened into mines. His hold me was strong but hesitant like he didn't know what to do with his hands. He visibly gulped and Damn, was all I could think.

"J-Jamal?" I asked as I hurriedly got off of him. If I wasn't black, my face would've been crimson red by now. "What are you doing here?" I asked clearing my throat.

He sized me up as he leaned forward to cover his bottom half. "It's a bar, what do you mean?"

My mouth shaped into an 'o' and I nodded. "Right, sorry."

He hummed, looking me up and down. His eyes went to my breast for a second but he averted his eyes. "You work here?"

"Yes."

"Since when?"

"Since today." I grabbed my pen. "We went off track a bit. How can I help you?"

His eyes sparkled and something flashed in them before it was gone. "Surprise me." He shrugged. He eyes then darted to the water and the glass that fell on the floor before saying, "you're standing in a puddle. Shouldn't you go get someone to clean that up?" He states.

That's when I remember what just happened. I looked around and saw everybody in the bar- including the staff- staring at me with wide eyes. Amber was on her way to me holding a mop and a bucket.

"Are you okay?!" Amber asked looking at us. I was about to nod to answer her question but I was cut off by Jamal.

"I'm cool. You should be asking your employee if she's fine." He points to me.

Amber then turned to glare at me and I gave her a sheepish smile. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean for it to happen. I tripped."

"You have to be more careful, Raya. What if you had hurt him? Do you know how that would have made me look?" She scolded and I winced. "Are you sure you're qualified for this job?"

"I don't think it's fair of you to be yelling at her," Jamal cuts in with his mouth set in a hard line. "I was the one who made a mistake and tripped her."

"I'm sorry sir but the customers are always right. Which means, rather you tripped her purposely or not, she still made a mess."

"That makes zero sense." He deadpanned, crossing his arms. The way he stared at her was intimidating and it would make anybody cower away.

Clearing my throat, I spoke up again. "I'm sorry Amber. It's my fault and I take full accountability. It won't happen again."

"It better not," she says, shoving the mop into my hand. "Now clean this mess up. I'll have someone else take care of him."

"Okay." I said.

Amber walked away and I got to mopping. Jamal scoffed a few times and I felt his eyes on me but I ignored him. I don't know why he was so pissed, I was the one who's in trouble, not him.

"Raya."

I looked up. "Yes?"

"Put down the fucking mop, you're no one's maid." He spat harshly.

My mouth fell open. "Do you want me to lose my job? Are you nuts?"

"I might be." He smirked and it was the hottest shit I ever seen. "Just put down the mop."

"I can't." I said lowly through my teeth. If he thinks I'm about to listen to him then he's nuts.

His jaw ticked. "You're hardheaded."

"And you're weird." I spat back and his eyes darted to me.

He said nothing and just hummed. Next thing I knew he was out of his seat and walking out of the building. "What the fuck?" I said, bewildered.

Am I tripping or did he just walk out because I called him weird? What a sensitive ass mother fucker.
