Chapter 6

When we arrive back to the Boarding house Stefan is there waiting ready to lecture us. Shoving passed him heading up to my room "Aurora Wait, we need to talk" turning back once I'm at my door way I look up at him challenging him "Go, don't expect me to change in a hurry" "You need to be careful, you could have hurt your sister last night, I understand there is a lot happening and your emotions are heightened, but you need to be careful" "Ha, your one to talk... I've heard why you pick animals Stefan, Stop acting like your better than me... At least I can feed on someone and not rip them apart" Turning away and slamming my door in his face. Stripping my clothes off and walking over to the shower, I jump in to start getting ready for the football match tonight.

A big game like tonight always means a hectic party with plenty of free booze. After my shower, I Grab out some clothes, fix my hair and get ready to head out. I Decide to stop by Damons room and invite him to tag along with me. Pushing his door open he looks up at me with a questioning gaze "come watch the football with me, I'll supply the bourbon" he just shrugs his shoulders and stands up following me down the stairs.

Arriving at the fields just as everyone is starting to cheer for the team with tanner making his starting speech. Boosting Stefans ego, I just roll my eyes and make my way to my brother Leaving Damon in the background of the crowd. "Hey Jer" I reached forward and grabbed the bottle from his hand "long time no see" holding the bottle to my mouth I raise my brows and tag a drink. Suddenly I hear Tylers voice from behind and us and I already know this won't be good. Vicki gets up from beside us and makes her way to him "Hey babe, whats wrong" "nothing" Making eye contact with Tyler giving him a warning look before he notices Jeremey and his face drops even more. "Is that Jeremy?" "Wait, no. Ty! No. Leave him alone." Tyler pushes passed Vicki and gets right in Jeremys face "Oh, what do you care? Don't look so down. You can have her when I'm done."

At this Jeremy swings his arm and connects with Tyler's face making him stable sideways. He quickly backs up and shoving Jeremy into the deck of the Ute he was previously sitting on. Dropping my glass, I'm quick to pull Vicki out of harm's way as Tyler throws Jeremy onto the ground. Turning around and grabbing Tylers arm to stop him hitting my brother as Stefan arrives at the scene. "Hey he's down! Enough" I yell at Tyler catching his attention he turns and swings at me, but I don't flinch. He looks up at me shocked and scared before I see Jeremy grabbing a glass bottle and swinging it towards Tyler. Stefan steps in trying to deescalate the situation and Jeremy ends up slicing his hand instead of Tyler. Elena finally steps in and yells at our brother "Jeremy, No!" Pulling Tyler away from the Centre of the now forming crowd Matt steps up to us giving me a quick look before looking at Tyler. "Tyler, knock it off! Stop!" letting go of Tyler and I turn to Matt. "Get him out of here, tell him to sort his shit out" I storm off nicking another bottle on my way back passed the Truck deck.

Making my way out to the carpark I find Damon and walk over to him offering the bottle "What an eventful night." I sigh sitting down against a car "It's about to get a whole lot better." watching Damon walk off towards my sister who is now approaching us he leans in close to her with his usual smirk on his face. "What are you two doing out here?" "Where just taking a quick break from all the drama from tonight" "where did you get that Necklace Elena, it looks awfully familiar..." "Stefan gave it to me..." "Hmm did he just, and what does that smell with it?" Elena just looks up at Damon with a puzzled look "What do you want Damon" "I know you Elena, I know what you really want" "And what is that"

Looking up at Damon not sure what he is trying to do I look at her necklace and realize that I have seen that somewhere before, it's like it's a past memory but I recognize it somehow. Almost like déjà vu. I come out of my thoughts when I hear a slapping noise and look up to see Damons head turned and Elena walking of "What did you do..." he just shrugs his shoulders and sits beside me "Are you ok? You were spaced out for a while?" 'Yea I just feel like I've seen her necklace before..." Damon looks to me puzzled but also curious. "Your full of Mystery's Aurora Gilbert." I let a small laugh pass my lips. Standing up I hear Stefan talking to Matt and I kick Damon to get his attention to follow me and listen in on it. "Good luck tonight. We're lucky to have you." matt says after shaking Stefans hand then walks off. Damon leaning against the wall starts to clap his hands alerting Stefan that we are here.

"Isn't that nice? Stefan joins a team, makes a friend. It's all so, "rah, rah, go team, yeah!" Damon says smugly trying to get a reaction from his brother. "Not tonight. I'm done with you." Stefan turns to walk away Damon rushes in front of him to confront him further. "Nice trick with Elena. Let me guess...vervain in the necklace? I admit, I was a bit surprised. It's been a while since anyone could resist my compulsion. Where'd you get it?" "What? What do you mean compulsion? Is that why she slapped you?" Looking up at Damon a little hurt he tried to use my sister for something, but I'm ignored.

"Does it matter?" Stefan grumbles to Damon "Guess I could just seduce her the old-fashioned way. Or I could just...eat her." Damon really has a death wish, not just from Stefan but me now. "No. You're not gonna hurt her, Damon" "No?" "Because deep down inside, there is a part of you that feels for her. I was worried that you had no humanity left inside of you, that you may have actually become the monster that you pretend to be." "Who's pretending?" "Then kill me, Kill Aurora" My eyes snapped to Stefan, just throwing me to the lion. "What the fuck Stefan..." I growl at him before Damon continues "Well, I'm...I'm tempted." flicking his eyes to be quick to see my reaction. I feel numb, empty and numb.

"No, you're not. You've had lifetimes to do it, and yet, here I am. I'm still alive. And there you are. You're still haunting me. After 145 years. Katherine is dead. And you hate me because you loved her, and you tortured me because you still do. And that, my brother, is your humanity" Suddenly Tanner walks out and approaches "Salvatore! What the hell? We've got a game to play!" "If that's my humanity...then what's this?" Damon rushes over to Tanner meeting my eyes before he sinks his teeth into him and letting him drop after he drains him. "Anyone, Anytime, anyplace" Damon sprints off and leaves me here alone.

Deciding to head off I make my way to the forest to collect myself. Rushing off to the Wicker bridge knowing it will be clear and a safe space to let my emotions out.
