I shoved open the heavy wooden doors of the training room, the creak echoing through the empty space. The scent of sweat and metal hit me, a familiar mix that brought back memories I wasn't ready to face. I tried to shove the thoughts of Lia and our moment to the back of my mind, but they clung like shadows.

I'd been chasing dead ends up in Canada, following leads the Professor sent me on. Each one promised answers about my past, but all I found were more questions and cold trails. It was frustrating as hell, and I was starting to wonder if I'd ever find the truth.

As I walked through the hall, I heard quick footsteps coming my way. Before I could even react, Rogue was there, throwing herself at me and wrapping her arms around me in a tight hug. "Logan!" she exclaimed, her voice full of relief and excitement.

I hugged her back, a rare smile creeping onto my face. "You miss me, kid?"

She pulled back just enough to look up at me, a faint smile playing on her lips. "Not really."

I ruffled her hair, feeling a warmth settle in my chest. "How're you doing?"

Rogue laughed, her eyes sparkling. "I'm okay, how are you?" She asked, but before I could answer, I noticed a boy standing beside her. I motioned towards him. "Who's this?"

"Logan, this is Bobby," Rogue introduced, her tone light. "He's my—"

Bobby cut her off, extending his hand. "I'm her boyfriend."

He shook my hand firmly, and I felt a chill as my hand began to freeze slightly. "Call me Iceman."

I furrowed my brows, muttering, "Alright." I continued, "Boyfriend? So how do you guys...?"

They exchanged a glance, and Bobby looked back at me. "Well, we're still working on that."

I nodded my head, not continuing the subject. I then saw Ororo descending the stairs, a knowing smile on her face. "Just in time," she said, her voice calm and composed as always.

I turned to her, raising an eyebrow. "For what?" I grunted, not in the mood for any more surprises.

She walked up to me, her eyes glinting with a hint of amusement. "We need a babysitter," she replied, the corners of her mouth twitching as if she was trying not to laugh.

I couldn't help but let out a faint smile, though I was still confused. "A babysitter?" I echoed, trying to wrap my head around it.

Ororo's smile widened. "Nice to see you again, Logan," she said, her tone warm and genuine.

I nodded, acknowledging her. "Yeah, you too, Ororo," I said, still trying to figure out what I had just signed up for.

She then turned to Rogue and Bobby. "Mind if I steal Logan for a second?" she asked.
