The morning light streamed through the curtains, casting a soft glow across the room. Zee blinked awake, the weight of Nunew’s body resting peacefully against his. His omega was no longer sweating or restless—Nunew’s breathing was slow and even, his face calm as he slept in the safety of Zee’s arms.

Zee’s thoughts drifted back to the events of the night. He hadn’t expected Nunew to react so strongly, nor had he imagined that his own pheromones would be the thing to calm him. It had been instinct—something primal, beyond words—that told him what Nunew needed, and now, with Nunew finally resting, Zee realized just how deep their bond had become.

Nunew stirred slightly in his sleep, shifting closer to Zee, his body unconsciously seeking the warmth and comfort of his alpha. Zee smiled softly, tightening his hold just a little, careful not to wake him. It was moments like this that made Zee realize how much he cared for Nunew—how much he wanted to protect and be there for him, in ways he hadn’t fully understood before.

As the minutes passed, Zee allowed himself to relax, his mind quieting as he listened to the steady rhythm of Nunew’s breathing. His scent was no longer overwhelming—it had settled into something warm and familiar, like a comforting presence that Zee had grown to love.

After a while, Nunew slowly blinked awake, his eyes hazy as they focused on Zee. For a moment, there was a sleepy confusion in his gaze, but then his face softened as he realized where he was.

“Good morning,” Zee murmured, brushing a stray strand of hair from Nunew’s face.

Nunew’s lips curled into a soft smile. “Morning, Hia.” He shifted slightly, his body still close to Zee’s, but the tension from the night before was gone. “Did I... make things weird last night?”

Zee shook his head, his expression gentle. “Not at all. You needed me, and I’m glad I could help.”

Nunew’s eyes held Zee’s for a moment longer, something unspoken passing between them. “I didn’t mean to... I don’t know why my body was acting like that. I just felt—”

“Restless,” Zee finished for him, his voice understanding. “It’s okay, Nhu. Maybe it’s our bond growing stronger. Maybe your body’s adjusting to that connection.”

Nunew thought about it for a moment, then nodded slowly. “Maybe you’re right. I’ve never felt like this before, but with you... it’s different. In a good way.”

Zee smiled, leaning down to press a soft kiss to Nunew’s forehead. “As long as you feel okay now.”

“I do,” Nunew whispered, his voice soft but steady. “I feel safe with you, Hia.”

Those words sent warmth rushing through Zee’s chest. The bond between them was undeniable, and though neither of them fully understood what was happening, they both knew one thing for certain—they were meant to be together, and they would face whatever challenges came their way, side by side.

“Good,” Zee whispered, holding Nunew a little closer. “Because I’m not going anywhere.”

Nunew smiled again, his heart full as he nestled against Zee’s chest, feeling more at peace than he had in a long time. Whatever was happening between them, it was real, and it was only growing stronger with every moment they shared.
