The air in the room felt thick with something more than just warmth. Zee’s scent lingered like a soft, comforting blanket, filling every corner as Nunew sat alone, resting on the couch. He had grown accustomed to his alpha’s scent, the familiarity of it grounding him whenever Zee was nearby. But today, it felt… different.
