The next day, Nunew was feeling much better, though still a little tired from the lingering effects of the illness. He stayed wrapped in a soft blanket on the couch while Zee busied himself around the house, keeping an eye on him. The morning passed quietly, the atmosphere peaceful as they both enjoyed the calm after the past few exhausting days.

“Hia,” Nunew called softly from his spot on the couch.

Zee turned, giving him a warm smile. “What is it, my baby Nhu? Do you need something?”

Nunew shook his head, a gentle smile on his face. “Just come sit with me. I miss you.”

Zee chuckled lightly, walking over and sitting down beside his mate. “You’re never going to stop asking for cuddles, are you?”

“Not when it comes to you,” Nunew teased, leaning into Zee’s side as soon as he sat down. “I feel better when you’re close.”

Zee smiled and wrapped his arms around Nunew, pulling him close. “Then I’ll stay as long as you want.”

Nunew nestled against Zee, the familiar warmth and comfort of his alpha making everything feel a little more right. They sat there quietly, enjoying the simplicity of being together. There was no rush to do anything or go anywhere—just the two of them, savoring the peace they had after the chaos of Nunew’s illness.

“I’m really lucky to have you, Hia,” Nunew said softly, his eyes half-closed as he relaxed against Zee’s chest. “You always take care of me.”

“You make it easy,” Zee replied with a gentle kiss to Nunew’s forehead. “Besides, I like taking care of you. It feels right.”

Nunew smiled, his heart full as he listened to the steady beat of Zee’s heart. Even though he was recovering, the sickness had reminded him of how much he relied on and loved his alpha. Being in Zee’s arms made everything better, no matter how bad it got.

As the afternoon wore on, they spent the day in their own little world. Zee made sure Nunew stayed comfortable, preparing light meals and offering him anything he might need. Nunew, in turn, enjoyed the quiet recovery, grateful to have Zee by his side.

By evening, Nunew felt strong enough to sit up more and eat a proper meal. Though he still wasn’t back to full strength, the worst had passed, and with Zee beside him, he knew he was well on his way to feeling normal again.

“I think I’m almost back to myself, Hia,” Nunew said as they sat down for dinner. “Thanks for taking such good care of me.”

Zee smiled, his eyes full of warmth. “It’s what I’m here for, Nhu. I’ll always take care of you.”

And as the day faded into night, they curled up together again, ready to face whatever came next, knowing that with each other, they could handle anything.
