The following morning, the house was still buzzing with the warmth from the previous day's visit when the doorbell rang again. Zee and Nunew had been enjoying a lazy start to their day, their contentment from the previous day still lingering in the air.
Zee opened the door to find Nunew’s siblings standing on the doorstep: Kirin, Nat, and Yim. Kirin, Nunew’s twin, had a mischievous grin on his face, while Nat and Yim looked equally cheerful.
“Surprise!” Kirin called out, his tone playful. “We thought we’d come see how you’re settling in.”
Nunew, who had been in the kitchen, heard the familiar voices and rushed to the door. “Kirin! Nat! Yim!” he exclaimed, his face lighting up with joy. “I didn’t expect you all to come by so soon.”
Kirin stepped inside with a chuckle, giving Nunew a quick hug. “Well, we couldn’t stay away. We wanted to make sure you’re doing okay.”
Nat and Yim followed, carrying a large basket of food. “We brought some homemade dishes,” Nat said with a grin. “Thought it’d be nice to have a meal together.”
The siblings quickly set up in the kitchen, and Zee watched with a smile as Nunew reconnected with his family. The atmosphere was warm and lively, filled with laughter and conversation as they all settled around the table.
Nunew was in his element, introducing Zee to his siblings and sharing stories from their past. Kirin, Nat, and Yim were eager to catch up, asking about how Zee and Nunew were adjusting to their new home and how they were feeling about everything.
As they enjoyed the meal, Zee felt a deep sense of satisfaction. It was clear that Nunew’s family was just as warm and welcoming as his friends, and seeing them all together made Zee appreciate the bond they shared even more.
After the meal, they lingered in the kitchen, chatting and reminiscing. Kirin teased Nunew about old family memories, while Nat and Yim shared updates about their own lives.
When it was time for them to leave, Zee walked them to the door, grateful for their visit. “Thank you all for coming,” he said. “It was really great to see you.”
Kirin clapped Zee on the back with a friendly smile. “Anytime. We’re just happy to see Nunew so happy.”
Nat and Yim gave Nunew and Zee warm hugs before heading out. “We’ll definitely come by again soon,” Yim said with a wink. “And next time, maybe we’ll bring even more food.”
As the door closed behind them, Zee turned to Nunew, wrapping his arms around him. “Your family is amazing,” he said softly. “I’m glad we’re building such a strong support system together.”
Nunew smiled, leaning into Zee’s embrace. “I’m glad too. It feels good to know that we’re surrounded by people who care about us.”
They spent the rest of the day basking in the afterglow of the visit, feeling even more secure in their new home. It was moments like these that reminded them of the deep connections they had and the bright future that lay ahead for them.
