The following morning, Nunew woke up feeling lighter than he had the past few days. The dark cloud that had hung over him seemed to have lifted, if only slightly, and he was thankful for the support Zee had given him during that time. Lying in bed, Nunew turned to see Zee still asleep beside him, his arm protectively wrapped around Nunew as if he could sense the omega’s emotions even in his sleep.

Smiling softly, Nunew carefully wiggled out of Zee’s hold and slipped out of bed, heading to the kitchen. He decided he wanted to surprise Zee with breakfast as a thank you for being so understanding and caring.

As the sound of sizzling eggs and the smell of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, Zee stirred awake. Realizing that Nunew wasn’t next to him, he blinked sleepily and made his way to the kitchen, drawn by the inviting aroma.

He found Nunew humming softly as he prepared their meal, the omega’s mood visibly improved. Zee’s heart swelled with warmth at the sight. Quietly, he walked up behind Nunew and wrapped his arms around him from behind, placing a soft kiss on his cheek.

“Good morning, Nhu,” Zee murmured, his voice still raspy from sleep. “What’s all this?”

Nunew leaned into Zee’s embrace, smiling up at him. “I wanted to make you breakfast as a thank you. You’ve been amazing the past few days, and I just… I wanted to do something for you.”

Zee smiled, touched by the gesture. “You don’t need to thank me, Nhu. I’m just happy you’re feeling a bit better.”

They ate breakfast together, chatting lightly about their plans for the day and what the future might hold. Nunew felt more like himself again, and seeing Zee’s relaxed and content demeanor made him feel even better. The weight that had been pressing down on him seemed to have lifted, thanks to Zee’s patience and unwavering support.

Later, they decided to take a walk together, enjoying the fresh air and the simplicity of spending time outdoors. Hand in hand, they strolled through the quiet streets of their neighborhood, talking about everything and nothing at the same time. Zee glanced at Nunew from time to time, watching as his omega’s expression grew brighter with each passing moment.

By the time they returned home, Nunew’s spirits had lifted completely. As they sat down on the couch to relax, Nunew snuggled close to Zee, resting his head on his alpha’s chest. “Thank you for everything, Hia. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”

Zee kissed the top of Nunew’s head, wrapping his arm around him. “You don’t have to thank me, Nhu. I’ll always be here, no matter what. We’re in this together, remember?”

With that, they settled into a comfortable silence, knowing that whatever the future brought, they would face it together—stronger, closer, and more in love than ever.
