LORENZO

My mind was full of unanswered questions. I could feel another headache coming, despite having just taken some pain relieving pills a while ago.

I put aside the report I'd been working on and stretched out my legs, laying back on the mahogany chair.

I closed my eyes for a brief moment to collect my thoughts but I quickly sat up when a weak cry caught my ear, followed by inaudible mumbling.

She was awake?

I rushed into the house to find Lilith throwing her hands in air while spinning around the living room.

"Lilith, what happened?" I asked in concern, noticing that she'd folded the small blanket I'd laid on her during her nap.

"I stubbed my toe twice," she produced an hissing sound when I touched her left foot.

"There's a small swelling," I inspected the area, gently massaging her after we'd settled on the couch.

"My nail looks ugly," she stared at the small toe, in comparison to the other ones.

It wasn't that bad but I knew she would fuss over it till her nail grew again.

"I thought you were asleep," I softly pinched her cheek to distract her from the small injury.

"I woke up ten minutes ago and then thought of making you something small. I hurt my feet while reaching for flour."

I stared into her eyes without saying a word and then glanced at the kitchen entrance.

"Pancakes?" My eyes perked up when she nodded, making me smile.

"Were you making them for me or for yourself?" I teased, knowing how much she loved them.

"For myself," she stuck out her tongue to me and I laughed at how cute her face was.

"Alright love, did you need anything from me?" I followed her into the kitchen to take out the flour for her.

"Nothing for now." She tried to push me away when I stood between her and the kitchen counter.

I stared at her lips, my eyes lifting to hers when she ran her hands up and down my chest.

"Have you finished drafting my report?" She whispered to me, the sly look on her face making me dumbly stare at her.

She was gorgeous.

"No kisses for you until you're done." She tapped my upper chest while giving me her most stern look.

It was adorable to me so I quickly stole a quick kiss from her, chuckling at her surprised face when she realized what I'd done.

"I'll be back soon," I winked, leaving the kitchen to work on the report so that I'd have as many kisses as I wished.

I didn't have much inspiration working outside so I came back into the house, settling in the living room where I could see her.

She had been selected to represent our hospital as a team leader for one of those mega health projects.

With the monthly meeting coming up, she was supposed to give her first proposal presentation, something I was helping her with.

We had conducted our research together. I'd gotten help from some of my acquaintances and so far, we were done collecting the data and the report was halfway done.

I knew she was tired after all the work we'd done together so I volunteered to write the report for her.

I picked up my laptop to resume typing but my thoughts shifted to a different topic. A topic that had weighed my mind for a while now.
