LILITH

Reece and Clarissa were the most amazing people I'd ever befriended in less than a day.

They were so friendly, easygoing and kind, a perfect reflection of Lorenzo. I could see why they were friends.

We had had late lunch together at this hotel they loved to visit. The fish there was tantalizing so I didn't regret going there.

The couple had revealed that they had just married half an year ago and they were now expecting their first baby.

I was excited for them. They complemented each other so well.

I had seen how Reece removed the small bones in her fish just before we began eating.

He had even asked for a pillow for his wife's back just as she sat down and I could see the love in her eyes.

Maybe getting a man wasn't that bad of an idea. I thought to myself while peeking at the man walking beside me.

It wouldn't be the sixth or seventh time I was staring at his arms. I did so every second, just not when he was looking.

"Your friends were so talkative, why are you quiet?" I poked Lorenzo's left arm, unable to resist touching him.

He glanced at the spot I'd touched and smiled. "I'm thinking about you,"

My eyes shifted to the path before us, a blush creeping up my cheeks but I tried to suppress it.

"How can you think of me when I'm right beside you?" I slightly shoved his arm again, in a playful manner.

Wasn't that something you said to someone you hadn't seen for a while?

I stopped, passing him an inquisitive glance, though still smiling.

He chuckled, his voice so deep as his left finger reached for a loose curl of my hair.

"I always think of you." He took my right hand saying, "You are a constant presence in my thoughts."

"Whether I'm resting or working, you are always there and I like it." He intertwined our fingers, smiling at me.

I smiled like a maniac, my mind trying to find the right words to say so that I didn't make this awkward.

"I-I think of you too," I stammered, shyly looking at him to see him grinning.

"Oh Venesse," he whispered while staring down at me, softly petting my hair with his free hand.

"I-I had something to ask you," he began, slightly looking at the area around us.

We were two streets away from my place. I had suggested we walk back when Lorenzo left his car in Oliver's hands.

"What is it?" I softly asked back, waiting for his question. He looked at me for a few seconds without talking.

"The other day you told me that I was good at pottery," I quickly agreed when he paused.

"I-I think...the idea was to...well..." He seemed to struggle to come up with the right words but I still watched him in anticipation.

He took my other hand and gazing into my eyes, he asked, "Will you do business me?"

I stared at him, not a single thought going through my mind as his words registered. I didn't know what to say.

"I was thinking if you could join me in setting up a b-business for ceramics. I-I have looked up all the necessities so we can-"

He stopped explaining upon seeing my shocked face. I couldn't hide my reaction at all.

This was huge. Starting a business? Together?
