Jonah walked up the stairs from the basement as the smell of breakfast led him to the kitchen. He found Karis and Taylor preparing breakfast for everyone.
"Oh, hey. You're the first one up." Karis said once she spotted Jonah who sat down on the barstool. "Would you like some hot tea, coffee, water, or juice?"
Jonah smiled. He loved how Karis was always nice to him. "I'll take some hot tea." He said in a hoarse voice.
"Yeah, you need it." Taylor laughed. "I told you, Ky, and T not to jump in that cold ass water."
"I couldn't let them punk me." Jonah joked. "What are you making?"
"Keke pua'a—Samoan pork buns. You gotta fight tink for these." Taylor replied.
"She can't be stingy all her life." Jonah said.
"What I tell you about talking to my daddy without my permission?" Cali asked as she dragged her slippered feet across the floor.
"Oh my gosh—here we go." Jonah said before thanking Karis who sat his hot tea in front of him along with honey, lemon slices, and sugar.
"Tink, be nice." Karis told her middle child. "The way you act behind your daddy makes me think that you don't love me."
"I love you, mommy. I'm just willing to share you." Cali admitted while sitting down next to Jonah. "Can I have some hot tea too, please?"
Karis rolled her eyes. "Ask your daddy to make your tea." She said as she made the tea anyway.
"What Ky and Asia doing?" Taylor asked as he checked the steam for the pork buns.
"Asia is in the shower and Ky is still asleep." Cali answered. "I tried to get him up because I smelled breakfast cooking but he's out."
"I gave him some NyQuil because he said his throat was starting to itch." Karis chimed in as she gave Cali her tea. "He just has to sleep it off—I guess."
"Jonah, how are things going with your dad?" Taylor asked, switching the subject.
"Everything is cool." Jonah replied. "I just finished talking to him before coming up here."
"Daddy, can you stop talking to him and talk to me?" Cali joked.
"Girl, go back downstairs." Jonah said as he playfully mushed her head.

"Hi Madi!" LJ exclaimed as he waved at Madison through Jonah's FaceTime call with her.
"Hey baby!" Madi said back.
"Can I talk?" LJ asked as he took the phone from Jonah without his official permission.
"I guess so since you already took my phone." Jonah chuckled.
"Who's ready to play spades?" Tristan asked as he sat down at the table. "Dad, you my partner?"
They all went out for some sightseeing then went to the mall. Zuri was feeling a little lightheaded so instead of going out to eat, Taylor decided to get more groceries delivered and cook dinner.
"I'm about to start cooking." Taylor replied.
"What you cooking?" Tristan said as he waved Cali and Kyran over to join him and Jonah at the table.
"Sapasui and my wife gonna fry some chicken wings." Taylor told him.
Tristan sucked his teeth. "You're saying your wife like she ain't my mama."
"She was my wife before she became your mama." Taylor retorted.
"Nah, I was in the belly at the wedding so you can't even say that." Tristan said, making everyone laugh.
