Restrained

Scott and Jean walked cautiously down the hallway, Scott adjusting his gloves as they turned the corner

Suddenly, the sound of a door opening caught their attention, and they both tensed. Logan emerged from the shadows, his hands raised in a non-threatening manner

"Hey, hey, hey, it's me," Logan said, his voice gruff but calm

Scott's hand immediately went to his visor, ready to unleash a blast. "Prove it," he demanded, his tone sharp

Logan didn't hesitate. "You're a dick."

Scott paused for a moment, then slowly lowered his hand from his visor. "Okay," he said, recognizing the familiar insult that only the real Logan would throw his way

Just then, from upstairs, Storm appeared, looking down at them from the railings. "Hey," she called down, her presence reassuring as she gave them an up nod. The three of them glanced up at her, silently acknowledging her arrival

They regrouped, and began making their way deeper into the Statue of Liberty. Their footsteps echoed as they ascended a spiral staircase, the metal creaking beneath their weight

The staircase led them into a large, open chamber, where they could see the torch high above, the faint silhouette of Rogue trapped inside

They all paused, looking up in dread. Logan narrowed his eyes and said, "Everybody get out of here."

Storm glanced at him, her brow furrowed in confusion. "What is it?"

Before Logan could respond, he was yanked violently off his feet and slammed into the copper wall. His body stuck to it as if magnetized. "I can't move," Logan growled, struggling against an invisible force

One by one, the others were pulled toward the wall. Scott grunted as a metal piece fastened around his waist, pinning him in place. Jean and Storm followed, helpless as the same metal restraints immobilized them

As they hung there, unable to move, a familiar figure descended from above, hovering effortlessly through the air. Magneto floated down with a calm, sinister grace, a smug smile playing on his lips. He surveyed the X-Men, now trapped and at his mercy

"Ah, my brothers. Welcome," Magneto said, his voice dripping with mock warmth. His gaze shifted to Logan. "And you... just point those claws of yours in a safer direction."

The copper walls bent further, moving to pin Logan's arms down, restricting any movement from his adamantium claws

Logan snarled, his body rigid against the restraints, while the others struggled uselessly against the metal bands

Suddenly, Sabretooth leapt down beside Magneto "You'd better close your eyes," Magneto murmured to Scott, and with deliberate slowness, Sabretooth reached out and ripped Scott's visor from his face

Scott gritted his teeth, his eyes clamped shut to prevent an optic blast. "Storm, fry him" Scott said

Magneto chuckled, clearly amused by the futile command. "Oh, yes. A bolt of lightning into a huge copper conductor," he said, his voice filled with mockery. "I thought you lived at a school."

"Mystique" Erik called over the earpiece, but there was no response "Mystique?" Ge called out again

"So, the good senator survived his fall and the swim to shore," Magneto mused, pacing with deliberate steps toward Jean. "He's become even more powerful than I could have imagined."

Jean's face was grim. "He's dead," she said firmly

Storm echoed her words, drawing Magneto's attention. "It's true," she confirmed

Magneto turned toward to Storm, his expression unreadable. He began to approach her, slowly, his eyes narrowing. "I saw him die," Storm said, her voice unwavering. "Just like those people down there will die." She gestured toward the crowd below

Magneto leaned in slightly, just enough to make his presence more imposing. "Are you sure you saw what you saw?" he asked, his tone condescending but curious

He spun around and began pacing once more. "Why do none of you understand what I'm trying to do?" he asked, frustration creeping into his voice. "Those people down there, they control our fate, and the fate of every other mutant."

He paused, his words hanging heavily in the air. "Well, soon, our fate will be theirs."

Before anyone could respond, a terrified scream rang out from above. "Help! Please, help me!" It was Rogue, her voice strained with panic

Logan growled, his eyes locked on Magneto. "You're so full of shit," he spat. "If you were really so righteous, it'd be you in that thing."

Magneto turned his head sharply, his eyes cold as steel. "Help!" Rogue screamed again, her voice echoing as she struggled against the restraints. "Somebody help me!"

The group looked up, helpless as Rogue's pleas continued to ring out
