The rest of the evening, Kinich stayed with you at your place. Mualani had her own matters to attend to, and being alone felt unbearable. So when Kinich offered to stay, you were grateful, even if the silence between you was heavy.
"I'm heading out now," he said after some time. "I'll be back in the morning."
"Oh... I'll walk you downstairs," you replied, already moving toward the door.
As you stepped outside, the cold air hit you. The streetlights cast long shadows on the ground, adding an eerie glow to the quiet night. You followed behind Kinich, unable to shake the heaviness weighing you down.
"It's really cold," Kinich remarked, his breath visible in the air.
