To my Heart, Love and Everything

Dear sweetheart,
if I were a book,
not a single page would be free of you.
Your name would ripple through every line,
like the tide gently kissing the shore.
Your face, like the sun,
would brighten the corners of every chapter.

I’ve never imagined a world,

where the sky of my future
doesn’t hold the light of us.
You are the ocean, vast and endless,
and I am a sailor lost in your waves,
always seeking,
never wanting to find land.

But as I drift closer,

I realize your heart is already anchored elsewhere,
and no storm of mine could turn your sails.
Still, I imagine—endlessly—
a horizon where you and I
meet like the sea meets the sky,
never apart, yet never truly one.

Each day I write you deeper into my story,

even if I know you’re written in someone else’s.
I’ve built castles of sand with my dreams of us,
but even castles fall to the tide.

Yet, I can’t stop loving you,

like the sea can’t stop reaching for the shore.
And if I must be an unwritten line in your life,
know that in mine,
you are the ocean, the sky, the sun—
and all the words in between.
