Hey, so this poem comes from that space we’ve all been in—where you fall for someone, but you know deep down it’s never going to happen.
It’s about those feelings we keep to ourselves because sometimes, letting go feels easier than saying it out loud.
We’ve all had that one person who makes us smile for no reason and then breaks our heart without even knowing.
This is for them—for the unspoken moments, the quiet hopes, and the love that lingers even when we try to move on.
I guess what I’m saying is, even if it doesn’t end the way we wish, it’s okay. We loved, and that’s enough.

I watch you from a distance, Close enough to feel your presence, Yet every step closer feels like you’re slipping away. Before I knew it, my heart was already yours, Though I never had the courage to admit it.
But as I got closer, I saw that your heart was never mine to hold. Someone else had already captured it, Just like you unknowingly captured mine. I can see how deeply you love them, And I find myself wishing to be in their place.
Your smile pulls me in, Like a quiet melody I can’t stop hearing. But I have to turn away, Before I start hoping to be the reason behind that smile.
Even so, I’m happy for you, Happy that you’ve found the love I never could. I’ll keep this piece of my heart with you, Even if you never know it’s there.
You make me laugh when I want to cry, And cry when I want to forget you. You are calm like the rain, But just as untouchable. You are fire— Warm but too dangerous for me to hold.
I don’t know what to do, Because you’re all I think about, A comfort and a curse at the same time.
My feelings will stay here, Unspoken, unanswered, unfinished. Yet, I can’t stop loving you, Even though I know it’s my greatest mistake. But I won’t regret it. Not ever.
