The aftermath of the funeral was a whirlwind. Deputy Hale had been killed during the drive-by. The injured were taken to St Thomas hospital. Club members and family that had been at the funeral were ushered back to the clubhouse for safety and a chance to regroup.

Jax had been taken to the station after the beating he gave the shooter. The club was mostly whole. Katy and Lyla went straight to work. Without Gemma, someone had to put on a brave face for the civilians and that role seemed to land on Katy.

The two women made sure everyone had coffee and remained calm. The men met in the chapel to plan the next move.

Slowly and steadily people started heading home, leaving Katy and Lyla alone in the clubhouse. "Maybe I should get that gun after all," Lyla said, fear etching her face. "I'll speak to the guys, one of them will be able to get that sorted for you," Katy promised. She was shaken up but refused to let it show.

When the men emerged from chapel Opie took Lyla home. Chibs went to hug his daughter. "What do we know?" She asked when he finally held her at arms length. "Fuck all and less," her father admitted. "We'll hear from Unser tomorrow, for now best thing you can do is go home, rest up. But if you wouldn't mind we'll be needing you to fill in for Gemma around her while she's away, keep things ticking over," he looked down at her, seeing the determination in her eyes.
"I'll be here," she promised. He couldn't help but be proud of her. This was a big ask of anyone, but he knew she was capable of it. He smiled at her, kissed the top of her and headed out.

Juice was quick to approach after he was gone. "Home?" He asked her, just wanting to wrap himself around her and keep her safe. She nodded and followed him out to his bike.

The next morning they headed straight back to TM. A few of the guys went to collect Jax from prison and meet with Unser. Juice remained at the garage. He kept his eye on Katy as she worked in the TM office. He had to admit he loved having her close by. He tried working on his laptop for a bit but found he couldn't focus. Finally he went through to the office and said "Show me the wedding board," Katy looked up, shocked but excited, she jumped out of her chair and took him by the hand to lead him through to the clubhouse. She showed him the board. Talked him through her thoughts so far. She waited patiently for him to soak it all in.

After what seemed like an age he turned back to face her, "Halloween, Oswald's land, these flowers look nice," he honestly had no clue about flowers and was just going to agree with whatever she wanted. "How come we got three bands?" He asked, confused.
She chuckled, "I thought I should let you make some of the decisions," she admitted, "I narrowed it down to those three," she waited, wondering if he would pick one now.
"Baby I'm not gonna lie to you, I couldn't care less about which band we pick, I'd marry you right now without any of this shit," he gazed back at her board, "I don't see no fancy white dresses up here? And what's these ribbon things?"

She laughed, "Well the courthouse is always an option but I think we deserve something a little more spectacular. I haven't picked a dress yet, and I'm not entirely sure I'm going with white," she paused waiting to see if he would have any thoughts on that, he just raised his eyebrows and let her continue. "The ribbons are for hand fasting. It's an old Scottish tradition, we don't have to do it if you don't want to, but it would mean a lot to me if we did," she looked at him expectantly.

"Then we do it," he smiled, wondering what colour dress she would want if not white?
He didn't have time to wonder long, the guys returned from the station and he was summoned to the table.

"All we know is, the guy from last night has some protection at the hospital, we should be able to get around that, no word on who it is yet though. Someone has to be behind this, it wasn't random," said Clay. The others murmured in agreement. They discussed how they were going to get around the protection at the hospital then headed out.
