Juice was milling about in the lot at TM with some of his brothers. Clay had reached out to Jimmy to try and find out more about Abel. The Irishman had told them Cameron wasn't in Northern Ireland. He claimed he knew everything that went on in the six counties. So why had they learned about Cameron's death on the streets of Belfast from their brothers at SAMBEL?
Juice could only hear bits of the phone call.
"WHERE THE HELL IS MY KID," Jax screamed down the phone. Shortly after, Jax hung up, then turned to his brothers. "He said Abels not in Belfast, Cameron didn't bring him," no one spoke. What could they say? Jax took a few steps away from everyone then slammed his first into the van so hard it dented the panel.
Juice didn't know what to think. Would Cameron really have left Abel somewhere? That didn't seem likely to him. But he didn't know the Irishman that well, except for that time Juice's finger has been used to plug a bullet hole in Cameron's ass.
__________Katy sat in the TM office. She watched out the window as Jax smashed his fist into the van again and again. She dreaded to think what news had caused that outburst.
Piney had joined her in the office. "Cheep up Buttercup," he said smiling at her as he entered. She gave him a weak half smile and turned to look back out the window, but the guys had dispersed. Katy turned to look at Piney. Grateful that the sweet old man was not planning to head to Canada with the rest of them. "Someone has to keep you gals out of trouble," he had joked when she asked him why he wasn't going. Only after, did she reflect on it, it hadn't been her place to ask. But also Piney was not a young man, nor was he a well one either, always carting his oxygen tank about with him. He shouldn't be flying off anywhere, and definitely not to war.
"What happens if they don't find Abel?" She looked to the old man, hoping for comfort, he did not disappoint.
"Hey now, we don't play the what if game here, we focus on what we know. What we know is these boys are gonna bring that little guy back here. Just gotta give them the time to do it," he smiled down at her again, this time she smiled back a fuller smile.
"Thanks Piney, you always know just what to say," she stood and gave the old man a hug. He smelled like tequila and cigars, both of which he probably shouldn't be having given his condition. He hugged her back in a fatherly manner, found himself thinking of Donna. Katy reminded him of her a bit. Donna had never gotten too involved in club business though. She liked to keep her distance. At least she had let the club take care of her when Opie had gone away. Piney still missed Donna everyday, she may have only been his daughter in law but she was definitely his daughter at heart. It's why he had struggled with the kids so much. Every time he saw them he was reminded of what they had lost. He had been grateful when Mary came back and started looking after them. Even if it had been short lived. He left Katy to her thoughts as he went to rejoin the others in the yard.
__________The men moved over to the benches. Chibs and Jax sitting on the table, Clay, Juice, and Opie standing around them. Jax reminded everyone of the plan. The guys would do the gun drop, Jax and Clay would fetch Gemma, everyone would regroup later that evening.
Before long they were on the road. Juice hadn't even had time to say goodbye to Katy. That didn't matter just now, he would see her once more before they left. He hoped.
____________Katy heard the Harleys pull out the lot. She needed a distraction. Things were quiet enough at the garage so she decided to take a run.
She arrived back at the house she and Juice shared. Let herself in and quickly sought out her running gear. She had really been slacking off recently. Maybe this was exactly what she needed.
