Katy woke in the dorm at the clubhouse. Phil might be growing on her but she didn't want him sleeping on her couch. She felt safe enough at the clubhouse, at least Juice had installed a lock on the door of his dorm for her so she didn't have to worry about anyone barging in.
She dressed and went in search of coffee. As she opened the door she found Phil, sleeping in a chair he had pulled up to the door. After kicking his leg to wake him up she said "You could have slept in a dorm, you don't have to literally watch me all the time," Phil nodded but didn't move from his chair. She sighed and left to make the coffee. The rest of the clubhouse seemed deserted. That would take some getting used to. Most of the men that normally filled it were on a plane headed to Ireland.
Katy downed two more of her pills with her first gulp of coffee. Letting the warmth spread through her, she opened the front door and headed to the office. Hoping a day of paperwork for the garage would help keep her distracted.
A few hours passed in relative peace, Katy spotted Phil standing in the yard, eyes glued to the office window. The day had officially begun, the regular mechanics turned up to their day job and Piney came into the office.
"Flight should have taken about 15 hours, they should have been landing down in Manchester right about now," he hadn't heard from anyone yet but wanted to set Katy's mind at ease. He knew she would be worrying.
She smiled up at him from where she sat, in Gemma's usual seat. "Thanks Piney, if you need any help with the kids while Opies away you let me know."
"Lylas got 'em, thanks darlin'. I'm gonna need you around here, can't run this place by myself." He turned to head back into the yard just as the phone rang.
"Teller-Morrow automotives, Katy speaking, how may I help you?" She said on autopilot.
"Katy it's Tara," came the response, "I've just bailed Tig out, his license has been suspended, can someone come meet him at the impound yard to drive the tow truck back?" Katy chuckled, Tig was supposed to be on a plane to Manchester with the rest of the crew. Trust him to spend the night in the slammer instead.
She told Tara she would sort it and went to speak to Piney.
Piney agreed Katy could drive Kozik out to the impound lot, provided Phil tagged along. She would drop Kozik off and he could drive Tig back to the lot.
"Come on Phil," she shouted over to her bodyguard, "We've got a job to do," then she went to fetch her purse, checking her gun was still there before climbing into her car.
Kozik made Phil ride in the back, "Prospects don't get front seats," he told him. Then they set off.
Katy hadn't spoken to Kozik that much before. She decided to try and get to know him on the drive. "What's the beef with you and Tig," she asked with a smile. Knowing she would probably not get the full story but she might understand the feud between the two men a little better.
"It's something and nothing," Kozik told her, "I'll not bore you with specifics but let's just say Tig can hold a grudge."
It wasn't a long drive to the impound lot, soon enough she was shutting off the engine and letting Kozik climb from the car. A furious looking Tig waiting by the gate. Katy chuckled at the sight of him then turned to look at Phil in the back of the car.
"You can get in the front now if you want, prospects are allowed front seat when no one else needs it," she joked with a smile. Phil gave her a small smile back and got out the car, quickly re-entering, this time in the front. She turned the ignition and headed back to the garage. When they arrived they found Tara and Chucky in the office. Katy and Tara worked together for the next few hours sorting through heaps of paperwork that was starting to create a backlog.
