Katy woke early the next day. Finally her face felt pain free. She almost wanted to go out for a run but thought better of it. She was too scared. Plus she didn't know how Phil would keep up.
She took an extra long shower, letting the water wash over her, wishing it would wash away the last couple of weeks.
She finally dressed and pulled her hair into a plait that ran all the way down her back. She headed through to the lounge of the clubhouse, plastering on a smile before anyone could see how she was really feeling.
As usual Phil was hanging around, Katy chuckled at the sight of him, lurking around like a giant while trying to look inconspicuous. She poured herself a coffee and wandered out to the yard, watching as the day mechanics pulled in for their shifts.
Katy opened the office and booted up the computer, she was just settling in for the day when the phone rang. Chucky entered the office just at that moment and answered it before Katy had a chance. She was grateful, she hadn't finished her coffee yet and wasn't ready to deal with the general public.
Katy listened in to Chucky's side of the conversation. "Teller-Morrow" he said, by way of greeting, "I can help you," he followed up. "Trusted friend," came his next response and Katy eyes him suspiciously, wondering who was on the other end of the line. It didn't sound like a usual customer conversation. Chucky pressed the hold button and knocked on the window into the workshop, signalling Piney to come and take the call. "Whoever it is, they're not very nice," Chucky commented, handing the phone to Piney.
Katy raised an eyebrow at Chucky in question but he just shrugged in response.
"Hi, this is Piney," Katy continued to listen, "Who the hell is this?" Now her curiousity was well and truly piqued. Piney stood in silence listening to the person on the phone for a few minutes then he signalled for Chucky to go and fetch Tig and Kozik.
When he finally hung up the phone Katy started to question him about who it was but he brushed her off and went inside the clubhouse to bring the others up to speed.
It was Tig who eventually returned to the office to let Katy know what was happening.
"It was Salazar on the phone, he has Tara. We're gonna handle this, don't leave this lot. I'm not joking Katy. Stay put. I'll tell Phil he has permission to physically restrain you if you try and leave do you understand?"
Katy was shook. Tig was always so calm and friendly, she knew it was serious if he was being so forceful. She nodded silently and looked back at her work. Keeping her mind occupied today was going to be a challenge.
___________Juice was still at the church with Fiona and Kerrianne. He got a message from Jax letting him know the club were going to hunt down O'Neil. They were sure he had been responsible for the bombing. And he had fled. Innocent men don't flee. Juice hoped they found him.
In the meantime he was trying to get to know Kerrianne a bit more.
"So tell me something about you, I know your dad, I know your sister, but you seem a little harder to get to know," he smiled softly at her hoping she would open up.
"Not much to know." She said in her Irish accent, "I'm not like me da and Katy, I like peace not the drama they bring everywhere they go," she almost sounded bitter. Juice didn't really know how to take it.
"Katy doesn't bring drama, neither does Chibs, though he might seek it out," he said with a smile.
"Katy's surrounded by drama all the time. Her mam brings it out in her. Her step sister an' all. Me mam wanted her to move here full-time. Keep her safe from everything over there. But then Jimmy got involved and that plan fell apart." It was the most Kerrianne had spoken since Juice met her.
"What did she need keeping safe from? I know her step sister was in with a bad crowd but Katy wasn't that involved was she?" He asked, frowning. Was it possible that he really didn't know Katy that well?
"Yeah, Sarah had the problems, and the problem friends, Katy had a few rough years with the wrong crowd when she was a teenager, that's when mam wanted her to move out here but with Jimmy....that wasn't possible. She was finally getting on the straight and narrow until Sarah started dragging her out to where ever she was going. That's when we got really worried. Sarah got addicted to heroin and we were worried Katy might follow that path. But then something happened, Katy just like, snapped out it. Sarah fell pregnant and Katy had to help deal with that and basically ended up raising the boys. I suppose you're right, she doesn't really seek out the drama, but it is never far away." Kerrianne sighed, realising how much she had been holding in. How much she actually did miss her sister.
Juice looked shocked but he listened to everything she had to say, finding it hard to believe his Katy could have gone down such a different path, he was grateful her path had led her to him.
"Maybe you should come out and visit her in Charming, see her in a low drama environment," he chuckled as he said it, thinking of all the drama that Katy had been through since arriving in Charming.
Kerrianne shrugged, she had no interest in leaving Belfast. And definitely didn't want to go to America.
Juice changed the subject and they chatted about different TV shows and books that Kerrianne enjoyed. There wasn't much else they could do in the church but talking passed the time. At least Kerrianne seemed to open up to him a bit more.
__________Katy waited in the clubhouse, unable to focus on anything. She had made Phil play pool with her but after a couple of frames she got sick of how rubbish he was. No fun in shooting fish in a barrel.
Next she dragged him over to the dartboard. He was surprisingly good at darts. She hadn't expected that. They played two games before Tig, Piney, and Kozik returned.
Tig came over and interrupted their game. "Update time," he said to Katy, dragging her away from Phil. "Okay so we got a plan in motion to get Tara back. Salazar wanted Alveraz dead, we convinced Alveraz to play dead for a little while. The next issue is a little bit bigger. He wants 250k, that we don't have." She nodded, not sure why he was telling her so much but grateful that he had.
Tig returned to the bar. Katy joined him and she poured drinks for the other Sons that were still here. She couldn't believe it. This Salazar guy was no one, he had been stripped of his president patch, he didn't even have a club anymore. He had beaten up her, worked over Juice, attacked Lumpy, and now taken Tara hostage. This guy definitely deserved to die. Katy hoped that when the Sons finally caught up to him they would draw it out. Make him really feel it before putting an end to him. She continued to drink with Tig and Kozik until well into the night.
__________Juice got a quick call from Happy. They had located O'Neil, that issue has been dealt with. Unfortunately they still didn't have Abel yet. And Jimmy had managed to slip through their grasp. Juice really hoped this would be all over soon. They had been away from home almost a week already. This time away from Katy was killing him.
The good news was Jax had an address where he should be able to locate Abel. The Sons would be heading there the next morning.
