24: why?

{Shiona's POV}

I walked angerly in the station, after last night's conversation I was furious and wishing he files weren't right, Adam is my best friend ever since highschool. Why would he do something like this.

I walked inside my office to see Adam already there, I noticed him flinch when I opened the door.

"Adam?"

I asked as he looked back at me with sincere eyes, I was going to forget about last night, I will.

"Oh, it's just you Shiona"

Adam said quite relief actually, it started to make me question why he is here on he first place. I walked over my desk to see some of my stuff have been moved.

"Oh, I was trying to find if you had a pen on you here at your office and I started to find it"

Adam said answering my questions in my head, strange, I thought, he never ask for anything except if it's important matter.

"Is there any important matters going on?"

I asked with a confused look, Adam's eyes widened abit and I felt him relax for the time being.

"Yeah, I'm going out today, I'm meeting with a friend"

Adam said before leaving me inside the office not letting me talk back to him. What just happened?

I shrugged before sitting at my desk, I sat there and opened my drawer, seeing it abit ruffle up. I went in and took a file out and started to write it down.

I looked back in my drawer seeing a file was missing, I started to look everywhere in my office and I couldn't find it. I walked out of my office and went to Temari's office, I knocked at the door waiting for a answer.

"Enter!"

I heard a voice yell, as I opened the door. There, I see Temari at her computer typing or finding something making me curious but realize why I'm here.

I walked over at Temari who raised an eyebrow to me, I sighed before speaking up.

" Did you see some of my files, they went missing"

I said as I showed her a pic of the file, look, don't get me wrong but taking a pic of a file is one of my old habits that never die. She looked at my file and shook her head indicating she didn't see it.

"Check the meeting room, maybe it's there"

She told me as I nodded my head, I exited he office and headed to the meeting room. As I walked to the meeting room I noticed Adam speed walking away, which is weird but his always weird. I arrived at the empty meeting room and started to search for the file but I couldn't find it, giving up I went back to my office.

As I finally reached the office I started to search again for the file.

"Hm?"

There, the file was right here all this time, weird I thought. I took out my phone and called Temari.

"Hello?"

"Hey um Temari, I found my file right here. But it's strange since I swore that I looked everywhere"

"Did anyone come in your office?"

"No, not really—"

I widened my eyes realizing what I just said, no no no he wouldn't would he? I thought over and over again not minding the call from Temari.

"I.....take your car, were going somewhere"

I said before leaving my office. Taking my coat and rushing outside I saw Temari waiting for me, that was quick I thought but it's not about that for now. I got inside the car as Temari started the engine.
