I felt a tug on my back, a strong one, and damn, I knew someone had caught me. When I turned my head, I saw him: a security guard, but it wasn't Luis. This guy didn't sound familiar to me. His eyes looked at me mockingly as he held me as if I were a harmless toy.
—And who are you? —he asked me, without removing that idiotic smile from his face.
—Let go of me! —I growled at him, but he didn't listen to me. I watched as his eyes dropped to the collar on my neck, that damn name collar my "owners" had given me.
—Flappy, huh? What a silly little name for a dog.
That damn name! I felt anger rise in my chest. —Don't call me that! —I growled, louder this time. I tried to free myself, but this guy didn't even flinch. He was enjoying their little joke.
—Easy, "Flappy." Let's go for a walk. —He laughed as if I were just a simple pet.
Just then, I saw him. Luis. He was standing still, with that blank expression on his face. The guard, who was apparently called Pete, saw him too and stopped.
-Luis? What are you doing here? —asked that idiot Pete, letting go of me a little, confused by the presence of his partner.
Luis didn't say a word, he stayed still like a statue. Pete started to get restless, I saw it in his face. He took a step back, suspicious.
—Luis, what's wrong with you? Tell me something! —he shouted at him, as if he really expected an answer.
I couldn't waste the opportunity. I looked at Luis and gave him the order with all my fury:
—Attack him!
Luis launched himself at Pete without hesitation. I saw it on his face: the confusion, the fear. He tried to stop Luis, but he had no chance. Luis pushed him with such force that he crashed into a nearby sarcophagus. Pete, completely confused, tried to reason with him, but to no avail.
-What's the matter? Luis, stop! —he shouted, while trying to block the blows.
I crept towards the Daemon Ritus, staying low and out of sight. It was so close. While Pete defended himself as best he could, Luis pushed him with such violence that his body fell against one of the shelves, collapsing him. The whole place shook, and at that moment, I saw it. The shelf opened, and I could feel the pull, Pete's soul being torn from his body and absorbed by the Daemon Ritus.
A smile spread across my face. Everything was going perfectly. I approached, without taking my eyes off my target.
"Come to daddy..." I whispered, stretching my paw towards the artifact I had longed for.
