The information I discovered about Vilma was clear: she will only be in the city until tomorrow. That means that, unlike what happened with Daphne, this time I have to act quickly, like I did with Fred. There will be no room for error and no time to spare; every second counts.
I began to plan the exact location of the fair, a small primary school a few kilometers from here, an easy place to control. But I have a question... should I show up in person or let my henchmen do the job? I look at the Daemon Ritus and, for a moment, I feel the energy pulsating in my chest, as if warning me that it is better to be prepared.
"Yes, it's better to be safe than sorry," I whisper.
I snap my fingers, and the Daemon Ritus responds. I see how it begins to absorb souls, those souls that I stole previously and that are at my disposal. Screams rise from the bottom, each soul filling the artifact and strengthening its essence, giving me the power to face anyone who tries to stop me, especially someone who thinks they know how to defeat me. This time they won't take me by surprise.
I smile, knowing that the fair will give me a unique advantage: there will be more people, children and adults, all trapped in that place, just a few kilometers away. And with Vilma in the middle of everything, catching her will be a pleasure.
I look at Zarkos, Titan, and the rest of the fighters I've put at my disposal. They are useful tools, much more effective with a little control over their actions. I cross my arms and, without hiding the satisfaction in my voice, I tell them:
—I have a job for you.
