By some weird miracle, Kasumi ended up in Dazai's hands after the babysitter was forced to leave Atsushi's house because of a family emergency.
Now, what can Dazai do with a child?
He has no idea.
He knows someone who's great with kids though.

"Huh? Why the fuck should I take care of her?" Chuuya asks in a loud voice (he's trying not to wake Kasumi) and walks over to Dazai. He grips his collar and Dazai laughs. He takes the shorter man's hat and Chuuya rolls his eyes.
"Chibiiii, don't be like that. Everyone knows you're basically dad material."
"Dad material? Are you serious? I don't even have kids!"
"Doesn't mean you're not dad material" Dazai answers and picks up Kasumi. She, obviously, immediately starts crying and Chuuya quickly grabs her.
"You can't just treat little kids like this!" He yells at Dazai and after Kasumi's in his arms, she starts to calm down.
Dazai gives him a ‚told you so' glare and Chuuya rolls his eyes again and walks to the kitchen. Dazai follows him and once Chuuya's by the counter, Dazai puts his hands on the smaller man's waist and pulls him close.
The mafia executive lets out a noise of surprise and turns around.
"What the hell, Dazai?" He asks but the blush on his cheeks is visible. Dazai smirks at that.
"We're alone, Chibi" Dazai whispers to him but Chuuya pushes him away. He shows him the kid and forces Kasumi into Dazai's arms.
"No. We're not. Now take care of her, I'm making food" Chuuya says and Dazai frowns but walks away with Kasumi. He puts her on the ground and sits down too.
What do children like? He was never good with kids and when he once tried to give a gun to one of the orphans Oda was caring for, Oda threatened to hit him. Obviously he never did, but he did forbid Dazai from seeing the orphans again.
He looks over and grabs a book.
‚The complete manual of suicide'
Fortunately, just before he can show Kasumi any of the pictures of the many ways a human can die, he receives a phone call and puts the book away.
It's Atsusi.
"Hello, At-su-shi-kun" Dazai says in a playful voice and Kasumi smiles once he hears Atsushi's name mentioned.
Soon, Dazai's playful smile turns grim.
"We'll be there" He says and hangs up the phone. He picks Kasumi up and the girl starts crying at the sudden height.
Chuuya comes into the livingroom, ready to yell at Dazai but stops once he sees the bandaged man's expression.
"What's wrong?" He asks and catches the keys Dazai shoots at him.
"We need to go to the hospital. Atsushi and AKutagawa are there. I don't know the details, but Atsushi was crying." Dazai says and that explanation is enough. Chuuya nods and they quickly get into the car. Kasumi's in Dazai's lap because they have no car seat and watches how the lights go by through the window.
She's still too young to understand the concept of ‚death'.

When Akutagawa wakes up, he feels two human beings on him. One, small one on his chest, apparently slapping his face with tiny hands and a head near his legs. He slowly opens his eyes and sees Kasumi's multi-color eyes.
Kasumi immediately smiles and hugs the diablo.
"Aku!" She says and Akutagawa slowly puts his shaky arm around her, to also give her a hug (even though it's more like a half-hug).
The giggle makes the man near Akutagawa's legs wake up too.
"Ryuu...?" Atsushi asks and slowly sits up. He wals over to Akutaagwa and his face starts tearing up.
Kasumi slowly moves away so Atsushi can hug AKutagawa too and his tears don't stop running down his face.
"I- I thougt you were dead!" Atsushi says through his sobs and Akutagawa smiles in a sad way.
"I though I was dead, too. How long have I been asleep?" He asks and Atsushi needs to calm down a bit before he's able to answer.
"Two weeks" He says with a crack in his voice and opens his eyes.
Atsusih and Akutagawa stare at each other.
"I missed you" Atsushi lets out and suddenly, he leans in.
Their lips touch each other and they melt into a passoinate kiss.
Atsushi's eyes are closed while AKutagawa's are open because of the surprise but his eyes soon close too, and he starts kissing Atsusih back.
When they move away from each other, Atsushi smiles at him.
"I love you, Ryuu" He admits and AKutagawa gulps. His heart is beating unbelievably fast and even the machines that are connected to him start beating. His face must be very fast because Atsushi laughs through his tears.
"I'm so glad you're alive" He says and Akutagawa bites his lips slightly. He reaches out for Atsushi and puts his hand on the back of the weretiger's neck.
"Me too" He says and kisses Atsushi again.
And so, all his worries fly away. Because now, all he cares about is Atsushi and he knows that the weretiger feels the same way.

Don't worry, I would never kill of either Akutagawa or Atsushi when they just became happy :)
