„Kasumi! Come, I made you some eggs and sandwiches" Akutagawa calls. Today, it was him who stayed at home at Kasumi while letting Atsushi sleep in. What happened yesterday and also all the crying made him tired, so the diablo wanted to surprise him with a delicious breakfast today.
Kasumi suddenly slightly pulls at his pants and the man looks down.
"What is it?" He asks Atsushi's daughter and Kasumi just stares at him with wide eyes.
"Are you making food for daddy?" She asks a few seconds later and Akutagawa nods with a smile on his face.
"Yes. Do you think he'll like it?" He asks and this time it's Kasumi's turn to nod.
Akutagawa smiles as a thank you and after a few minutes, he finally finishes making breakfast; the thing from before, so sausages and eggs, and also an additional salad with all the vegetables his boyfriend liked and also some chocolate bread that he baked all by himself. He had to wake up at 5 to make sure the bread finishes baking by the time Atsushi wakes up, but he didn't regret it.
Kasumi smells the wo derful chocolate flavpur in the air and her eyes widen.
"Can I have some too?" She asks with her mouth full because she still has a bit of sandwich in her mouth.
"Yes, but let's wait for your daddy first, okay? It's a surprise for him" Akutagawa explains and the daughter nods happily. Unfortunately, before Akutagawa can stop her, she runs towards Atsushi's room, ready to wake him.
"Kasumi, he's still tired! Let him sleep!" The diablo calls out but can't run after her because the hot plate of chocolate bread is still in his hands.
He sighs in displeasure but lets her go.
Soon enough, the tired Atsushi walks into the kitchen. He's rubbing his eyes with one hand and the other hand is being pulled by Kasumi.
Everything's already on the table and Atsushi smiles at the sight. First at the table and then he looks at Akutagawa. He lets Kasumi's hand go and walks over to his boyfriend.
"Were you the one who prepared it?" He asks even though he already knows the answer.
Akutagawa nods, his cheeks and ears a bit red.
Atsushi, suddenly much more awake, puts his hands around his boyfriend's neck and kisses him. Kasumi makes an 'ewww' sound, in her phase where she dislikes people kissing in front of her and the two men start laughing softly.
"Let's eat, or it'll get cold" The diablo tells everyone and a few seconds later, everyone is seated by the table.
Kasumi keeps trying to eat all the chocolate bread but after a while, she's so full all she can do is drink water. Atsushi enjoyed the salad the most, because the orphanage barely gave him any fruits or vegetables so now he started loving them, and later he ate one chocolate bread. Akutagawa ate two.
"Daddy!" Kasumi suddenly calls out and Atsushi turns to her.
"Yes, Kasumi?" He asks and the daughter giggles.
"Papa woke up very early to do this for you. Papa really loves you!" She says and Atsushi tilts his head. Papa? Wait, did she mean-
"You think of me as your papa?" Akutagawa asks and the weretiger turns to him. Akutagawa's smiling, as if he can't believe Kasumi just called him her dad.
„Are you not my papa?" She asks, a bit sad and later looks at Atsushi, waiting for an answer. Sure, she knew that Akutagawa wasn't her biological dad, Atsushi told her that already, but she could still view Akutagawa as her papa, right?
"I can be your papa, if you want to" Akutagawa says softly and Kasumi smiles immediately.
"Yes! I want you both to be my daddy and papa!" She says and first, she hugs Atsusih who's sitting right beside her and then she gets out of her chair to go to Akutagawa and hug him too. That second hug is much longer and Atsushi finds himself loving the diablo more and more with every day.
„I love you, papa!" She says and Akutagawa's heart melts. He caresses her hair and hugs her even tighter.
"I love you too, Kasumi."
Atsushi sneakily takes a picture of that scene, and in the future, that will be one of the most important days of his life. A day where he, Akutagawa and Kasumi took a step further to becoming a family.
