Seven months
Four days
And three attempts to leave him.
She hid money
New passports
And airline tickets to escape him.
She sold pieces of her soul to save her children
To give them a fighting chance.
Once out
Once they were comfortably far away
For the first time in a long time
I finally felt like me.
