Despite the heartbreak this man has inflicted upon my heart,
I can not bring myself to deny the love once shared between us.
I can not deny the moments we shared intertwined,
Cradling one another in hurt and happiness.
I can not deny that I still have so much love for this man,
That despite each unrelenting sting of pain I am forced to feel,
My altruistic heart cares more for his healing than that of my own.
That even in my life's greatest sorrow,
I have found peace in not denying him my love.
