AUTHOR POV~

As Mrs. Jeon rushed into the room her heart clenched at the sight of her son lying in the hospital bed. She hurried to his side gently holding his hand her voice shaky with concern. "Are you okay.. son?" she asked her eyes scanning his face and body in worry.

Jungkook forced a small smile trying to ease her worry. "I'm Fine mom..  don't worry. Just a little bruised but I'll be back to normal soon." He said lying and hided his arm well where he get shot and as he squeezed her mother hand lightly hoping to reassure her they he's fine.

Mrs. Jeon however, wasn't convinced. She looked at Mr. Jeon her face tight with anxiety. "How could this happen? Who would do such a thing to him? You said it was the mine owner right?" Her voice had a mix of disbelief and rising anger.

Mr. Jeon standing beside the bed nodded and sighed. "Yes it seems to be connected to that. But don't worry the police are investigating. We'll get to the bottom of this."

Mrs. Jeon frowned her grip on Jungkook's hand tightening. "This is all because of those business dealings and all. You should be more careful Jungkook."

Jungkook nodded still trying to keep the situation light for her. "I know Mom. I'll be more careful from now on I promise."

Mrs. Jeon sat down in the chair beside his bed her eyes not leaving him for a second. "I don't care about anything else I just want you safe." She glanced at Mr. Jeon and continued "I don't want any more risks."

Mr. Jeon patted her shoulder gently. "He'll be fine honey. You don't need to worry about that now. Let's just focus on getting him better."

Jungkook glanced at the door wondering when Y/N would return. He hoped she wouldn't walk in just yet he didn't want his mom suspecting anything or making the connection between Y/N and the incident. The last thing he needed was for his mother to blame on her. But the thought of Y/N her face, her worry her care drifted into his mind and despite the situation it made him smile softly to himself. His mom noticed and tilted her head. "What are you smiling about?"

He quickly shook his head, hiding his thoughts. "Nothing just thinking about getting out of here soon." Mrs. Jeon sighed. running a hand through his hair. "You'd better. I want to see you back to your normal self as soon as possible."

He gave her a reassuring nod but in the back of his mind, the worry about her safety lingered. If only his mom knew the full story but for now it was best to keep her in the dark. "Alright Mom. I'll rest and recover, don't worry" he said softly settling back into the bed as Mrs. Jeon held his hand protectively while his mind was still focused on keeping Y/N safe no matter what.

After his parents left he breathed a sigh of relief thankful that she hadn't returned while his mom was still there. He couldn't bear the thought of his mother blaming or scolding her, especially after everything that had happened. As they were leaving, Mr. Jeon stopped for a moment waiting until Mrs. Jeon stepped outside before quietly asking, "Where's Y/N?"

Jungkook still tense from his mother visit replied "She went to ask the doctor about my eating schedule." Mr. Jeon nodded satisfied and followed his wife out of the room. Once they were gone Jungkook's mind started to race. A sudden unsettling thought crossed his mind what if Y/N was in danger right now? What if the mining owner had sent those same kidnappers to hurt her while she was alone in the hospital? His heart pounded with anxiety and without thinking he shot up from the bed, rushing to the door.

Just as he yanked the door open Y/N appeared in front of him. Relief flooded his chest and he exhaled deeply. She noticed his panic and furrowed her brows. "Jungkook..  where are you going?" She asked seeing him all work up. He shook his head quickly. "No I wasn't going anywhere. I was just worried. You were taking so long and I... I thought something might've happened to you."
