AUTHOR POV~
The farmhouse was quiet, the only sound in the living room being the soft hum of the TV. Y/N sat curled on the couch flipping through channels aimlessly. Her mind wandered back to the terrace kiss the phone call the way Jungkook left without a word. Everything felt like a blurred half dream. She was about to change the channel again when she heard soft footsteps approaching.
Jungkook walked in dressed in loose joggers and a plain white T-shirt. He looked… tired. His face was slightly flushed strands of his hair stuck to his forehead, and his shoulders drooped.
He didn't say anything just quietly sat beside her, eyes on the screen his body slightly leaning into her space.Y/N glanced at him and immediately frowned.
"Jungkook you don't look okay" He let out a small breath, avoiding her gaze.
"I'm fine." She reached over and pressed her palm gently to his forehead And immediately pulled back."You have a fever Jungkook!" He scoffed softly clearly not surprised.
"It's Nothing, just a little-""Don't even finish that sentence-" she cut him off already standing. "Go to your room you need rest." He stood up wordlessly listening to her commands without protest. But just as he turned to walk away, he stopped. Then without saying a single word he turned back… and slowly lowered his head into her lap.
She stiffened eyes wide in shock.
"Jungkook-" But he didn't respond. He shifted slightly, finding comfort in her touch like it was natura like this was the only place that brought him peace. Her fingers hovered in the air unsure before slowly moving to brush his damp hair off his forehead. His breathing slowed.
Within minutes he fell asleep on her lap.
She sat there, unmoving heart pounding. Looking at the man she used to believe hated her… now sleeping in her arms like she was his safe place. She didn't move for the rest of the night.
The next morning early rays of sunlight streamed through the windows. Birds chirped. The lake behind the farmhouse glistened softly under the morning sky.
Jungkook stirred awake, groggy and warm but something felt wrong. His head was resting on the couch pillow now. She was gone. He sat up instantly, rubbing his eyes, looking around the room.
"Y/N" he called out. No answer. He walked through the hallway. Checked the kitchen. Empty. Then he spotted movement through the glass doors leading to the back garden beyond the trees near the lake.
His steps quickened.
She stood near the edge of the water barefoot on the grass, sunlight bouncing off her figure. She had one hand holding her phone the one Jungkook had secretly arranged for her, and her voice was low, but he could hear just enough.
"Noah… I just wanted to check if you're doing okay. After what happened, I was worried."
Jungkook stopped dead in his tracks.
His pulse spiked.Noah.
Something inside him snapped.
He stormed toward her, fury in his eyes. Before she could even turn "How the fuck does he have your number?" he snapped stepping forward startling her.
Y/N turned around fast eyes wide.
"Jungkook?""How does he have your number?" he repeated eyes wild. She clutched the phone to her chest, confused.
"I… I called him. Yesterday."That hit him like a slap.
"You WHAT?!" "He was injured Jungkook. I just… wanted to check on him."
That was it. That was all he needed to hear.
