JK POV~

I hadn't slept a wink last night. Not even for a second. My mind kept circling around everything that happened the argument with Mom, the truth about Y/N promise.

And now here I am… standing in her rose garden.

The morning air was still soft and cool, the moist clinging to the petals like tiny tears almost like the ones I've been holding since she said she was going. I looked around, taking in the effort she'd poured into this place. Every inch of this garden held her love her strength and her stubbornness.

I walked along the narrow path brushing my fingers over the flowers. I remembered how I used to trouble her when she first arrived how I purposely irritated her just to see her react. God I was such a jerk… but she still stayed. She still bloomed just like her roses.

I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't even hear her approaching. We collided suddenly and she stumbled. My reflexes kicked in and I caught her before she could fall wrapping my arms around her waist instinctively.

Right there… in my arms. Where she belongs. How do I make her understand that?

She gasped, startled her eyes squeezed shut as if waiting for  the fall I'd never let happen. Never.

"Are you okay? Did I hurt you?" I asked gently eyes scanning her face for even a hint of pain.

"No! Jungkook… you didn't " she replied forcing a small smile. A smile I knew too well one that tried to hide everything she didn't want anyone to see especially me.

After steadying herself, she slowly pulled away from my hold. I let her go though every part of me ached to keep her close. The silence that was heavy that neither of us could lift. She turned ready to walk past me without any word.

But I wasn't ready to let her go. Not yet.

I reached out and gently grabbed her hand. "Come with me" I said my voice low but firm.

She looked back at me eyes searching mine confused. I led her just a few steps ahead where my ATV was parked right in front of her garden.

"Let's go to the lake side " I said quietly " where we planted our first flower together."

For a moment she just stood there. Her gaze dropped to the ground then lifted slowly to meet mine. I could see her thinking, hesitating. I held my breath without realizing it… and finally she nodded.

My heart thudded with a joy. Like a lovesick puppy I smiled.

I helped her onto the ATV and then got on in front of her. Before I started the engine I looked back slightly over my shoulder.

"Hold me tight" I said softly.

She hesitated. "it's okay I won't fall" she replied trying to maintain the same distance she'd kept ever since she said she was leaving.

But what she didn't know…
Is that I'm the one falling. Every single day.
And it's her I'm falling for.

AUTHOR POV~

The lake shimmered softly under the golden touch of the sun. The wind was quiet, no rustle, no rush in the world as if time had slowed down just for them.

They sat side by side on the wooden dock, their feet dipped into the cool water. The ripples around their legs were gentle peacefu, but the silence between them was heavy with all the things.

He leaned back on his palms, eyes fixed ahead at the horizon though thoughts were miles behid.

A faint chuckle left his lips. "You remember" he started voice carrying that familiar softness  "we met here for the first time… when you came back from Switzerland."
