Wesley's POV
"I never left" she smiled.
I took this as my chance to lean in and kiss her. It was short and sweet but it was much needed. I was so happy to finally be able to hold her again. I walked out with my arm wrapped around her waist probably smiling like an idiot.
Once we got in my car I turned to her "I want to take you out tonight for your birthday cause I was a huge ass on your actual birthday"
"Wes please no" she begged
"Why not babe"
"Because I want to eat take out and spend time with you and your brother watching movies and being lazy. I missed you guys" she smiled
"Perfectly fine with me" I said before texting Keaton to pick up Chinese and meet us at home.
The ride was totally silent until she spoke up about half way home. "Can we talk about Drew?" She asked quietly
"If you want to but we don't have to"
"Why did he leave? Did you guys fight or something?"
"No. We didn't fight until right before he made the final decision to leave. He said he felt like our music was going two different places and that this would be what's best for him at the time."
"And how are you doing with it?" She asked
"I'm doing okay. It's hard to see my best friend leave but I also see his point. We haven't talked since but we left it on good terms." I sighed "how are you doing?"
"I'm okay. It sucks that I didn't know but I really appreciate it. You were both just looking out for me and I thank you for that. I haven't talked to him either but according to his voicemail he is off the grid for some hiking camping thing. You know Drew and his nature. But yeah change is just apart of life and we can deal with it together now." She smiled and grabbed my hand.
"I love you" I smiled at her
"I love you to Wesley" she leaned over and kissed my cheek
