Logan struggled as Magneto used his power to force his claws back, metallic screeches filling the airEvery time Logan tried to move, Magneto tightened his hold, pulling him back. The adamantium claws—useless against Magneto's control—were wrenched back into Logan's body with a sickening force
"You never learn, do you, Logan?" Magneto sneered, raising a hand to pull the metal even tighter around Logan's chest. Logan struggled, growling in frustration, but each effort was met with an agonizing restraint that left him more vulnerable
With a final push, Logan managed to grab Rogue, ripping her free from the machine. But Magneto wasn't done yet. With a flick of his hand
Magneto's power surged. With a swift motion, he sent Rogue tumbling off the edge. Her scream echoed as she fell, the ground and the ocean far below rushing up toward her
Logan's eyes widened in horror, but just as Rogue plunged toward the water, a shadow passed over her. You, wings spread wide, swooped down, catching her in your arms just in time.
Wearing gloves to prevent contact with her skin, you pulled her close, angling your wings to lift both of you back toward safety. The wind rushed past, and Rogue gasped, her eyes wide with fear
Rogue clung to you, fear in her eyes, as you adjusted your grip, making sure the gloves you wore kept her powers from touching your skin. Her safety now in your hands
With a mighty flap of your wings, you flew higher, away from the chaos and toward safety—toward the X-Mansion, where you could get her the help she desperately needed
The cold night air whipped past you both as you glided above the city, leaving the Statue of Liberty far behind. Rogue's breathing was shallow, but she was alive
"You're going to be okay," you reassured her, tightening your grip as you felt her weight growing heavier with each passing moment. Below, the shimmering water reflected the skyline, but your focus was on getting her back to safety
Back at the Statue of Liberty, Logan realized the person was you and signed in relief
But Magneto's attention briefly flicked to your retreating figure, but he turned back to Logan, uninterested in chasing you. "The girl will play her part, one way or another," Magneto muttered, then tightened his grip on Logan, metal constricting further around his body.
Logan's muscles tensed as he pushed against the crushing force. "You're not getting away with this," Logan growled, his voice strained
But Magneto only smirked, amused by Logan's stubbornness. The fight was shifting in Magneto's favor, but Logan, battered and restrained, refused to give up
Logan snarled, his eyes burning with raw determination as he pushed against the magnetic force holding him down. His claws, still retracted, trembled against the unyielding metal
Magneto's smirk faltered when he noticed Logan's eyes—there was something different, a spark of defiance that had grown fiercer with every second
With a primal roar, Logan forced his claws out despite Magneto's power, the sheer will of his rage breaking through the magnetic restraint
Sparks flew as the adamantium claws tore through the metal trapping him, and Magneto's grip faltered for just a moment
But that moment was all Logan needed
With a surge of energy, Logan lunged at Magneto, claws slashing through the air. Magneto raised his hands, attempting to defend himself by bending the metal around them, but Logan was too fast, too furious. His claws cut through the debris like butter, closing the distance between them in a heartbeat
"You should've stayed down," Logan growled, slashing at Magneto's chest, causing the metal master to stumble back
Magneto grunted in pain, clutching his side as blood stained his outfit. He attempted to raise the metal from the debris around them to form a barrier, but Logan didn't give him the chance. Logan tackled him to the ground, pinning Magneto down, his claws at Magneto's throat
"You're done," Logan growled, his voice low and menacing. Magneto's chest heaved as he tried to regain his breath, but Logan wasn't letting up
But Logan didn't deliver the final blow. He leaned in close, his eyes burning with fury. "If you ever come after Rogue again, or any of us, I swear I'll make sure you don't walk away next time," Logan snarled
Magneto, breathing heavily, chuckled darkly through the pain. "You think you've won, Wolverine?" he rasped. "This battle is far from over."
Logan glared at him for a moment, then pulled back, retracting his claws. "We'll see," he muttered, turning his back on Magneto. He walked toward the rest of the team, his chest heaving, his body still aching from the fight. But they had won—for now.
Meanwhile, you flew through the dark sky, the X-Mansion looming ahead as you carried Rogue, your wings beating steadily through the cold night air
You could see the lights of the mansion in the distance, a beacon of safety. Rogue stirred weakly in your arms, her head resting against your chest.
"Hang on," you whispered "We're almost there."
You could only hope that the others would make it back soon. The fight wasn't over, but for now, you had done your part.
