Three days before spring break Lilianne was almost done with packing. She was to leave school for two weeks and was particularly anxious about it. She had received only one letter from home the entirety of the month. And that was weird because her mother used to owl often. She was to be there for the following weeks. Yet it seemed her home was entirely different, or at least it seemed so.

With a sigh she walked to her nightstand, taking a letter sent to her a week ago.

Dear Lily,

I hope school is treating you alright my love. I'm afraid this letter is to be shorter than our usual, but to be fair it is very punctual. Your presence is required at home this following school break, my darling. You are a smart girl, I am sure you already know the reason.

I'm deeply sorry but the house is very busy at the moment and I cannot afford more time for this message. I'll try to write again soon. Take care and be well my darling.

Love, Mother.

She did not need to remind her to go back, she always did. It was nice to escape from classes and stress. Just be home with her mother and brother. But her mother had not written to her since and Lilianne did not know what to think. She'd be foolish to assume her father would not be in their house. It was also his after all.

The last time she saw her father was a little less than a decade prior. When she was but seven years of age. She could not very well remember him much, thinking back she could only so much picture his face and some mannerisms. He was a strict man, serious and posh.

How had he reacted to Sebastian? Has he even seen him yet?

When Rabastan Lestrange was captured, his wife was four months pregnant. And one of the things Grethel would always tell her youngest was that his father dreamed of meeting him for he was the most special boy there was to be.

Thinking of her younger brother, Lilianne could not help but smile. He was the sweetest kid. Raised with all the love and caringness his mother and sister could provide.

What would it be like to see him again?

She chose not to think biasedly of him. A person can be multiple things at once, have a million thoughts and another million motives for what they do. She knew what it was like to be boxed into a category, first she was a death eater daughter, then a pretty picture.

Just because he was her father he deserved the benefit of the doubt.

A few days later, the Slytherin section of the Hogwarts Express was particularly quiet. After almost eight hours of travel, the students were either impatiently waiting or asleep.

Uncomfortably shifting in her seat, Lilianne went back to the pages of her book, while Ariel and Eleonora played exploding snap. When Corine announced she wanted some sugar quills she found an opening to go stretch her legs.

Both went arm in arm to look for the trolley lady. They passed some carts, saying hello to those they knew. Somewhere along the way, they saw Daphne Greengrass sitting with her friends in one of the larger enclosed carts.

The blonde girl had always been awfully sweet to her, they were not particularly close as of now but Lilianne did consider her a friend.

They quickly waved as they passed, Exelfan gushing when out of view. She had made a big deal when Ariel and she told her about it some nights ago. The three girls had wandered off in the night, settling under an arch a little further from the courtyard but the redhead was the first to head back.
