JISUNG

"Please, Sungs! It'll be fun, I promise. I've convinced Changbin, Hyunjin, even Seungmin's coming."

I put one hand in front of my face to protect myself from being whacked by the ray of sunshine bouncing around beside me. How he had that much energy this early in the morning continued to confuse me. It was too early to be alive, let alone jump about like someone's attatched springs to your feet. My shoulder was about to dislocate from all the prodding and poking directed at me, and for the umpteenth time I wondered why I didn't find new friends.

A strong hand clapped me on the back, almost sending me flying as another voice sounded from behind the two of us.

"Morning, you two! Are you talking about the party tomorrow night? I heard Jackson's hosting another one because it's his goldfish's birthday. He's invited the entire school for the occasion; even a couple of other schools from the area have received invites, I think."

Another voice that sounded way too happy to be heading to class forced its way into my poor eardrums. As tempted as I was to plug my headphones in and speed-walk away, pretending I didn't know the two people conversing beside me, I reluctantly turned around.

Unfathomable amounts of energy in the morning. Must be an Australian thing.

I stood to the side as Chan and Felix talked about the party, rapidly firing sentences at each other at a speed my brain cells have yet to catch up with. Chan's face was bright and alive (though his hair wasn't, the poor flop of bleached frizziness that sat sadly atop his head) with some sort of energy found exclusively in Australians. After doing the completely unnecessary handshake he had with Felix - they add something on every two Tuesdays or something, and it's becoming longer and more complicated - he directed his gaze back at me.

"So... you planning on going?"

I could only vaguely mumble some sort of reply. "Felix thinks I should go to, quote unquote, spice my life up a little and stop living like a nun. I mean, what's so bad about binging shows instead of going to a room that reeks of sweat and alchohol, sipping on a drink that may or may not have been drugged - and is almost definitely going to give you a headache - watching people use the poor excuse of dancing to hump each other's legs?" I wrinkled up my nose at the very thought. No, thank you.

Felix stuck his tongue out at me, like the immature brat he was. I stuck my tongue back out at him, like the immature brat I was. Chan separated us before I could reach out to smack, like the slightly more mature person that he was.

I pointed at Felix, who was hiding behind Chan with a smug grin on his stupid face. "He started it, Chan! Look at him, the little fucker."

"Don't call me little fucker then! I have a name, you know."

"Right, I forgot, beg your pardon. How's your morning been, Bag of Limp Dicks?"

"Excuse me?! I am not filled with limp dicks! Any dick that's been inside me has been perfectly hard, thank you."

"What the fuck?! I did not need to hear this information whatsoever, especially not at 8 in the morning."

"You started it, you expired tub of baking soda!"

"Take that back, Lord-Farquaad-looking bitch!"

"At least I have a prominent jawline, you sack of mushy peas!"

Chan couldn't take it any more, stepping into our very civilised, very normal conversation with an unreadable expression. "Okay, okay, children, break it up."

As Felix opened his mouth, probably to yell out some other charming insult he spent the hours of his meaningless life thinking about, Chan reached out to cover Felix's mouth with his hand. This was not a good idea. I knew from personal experience.
