"Tell him."
"No."
"Tell him."
"No."
"Tell him."
"No."
"Tell him!"
"No! It's your turn."
"Come on, I don't even know how to play chess!" the Latina whined
"Then why did you agree to play with me?" I furrowed my eyebrows at her
"Because I needed to talk to you about this! You have to tell Henry you're pregnant."
"I'm not telling him."
"He'll find out soon enough! Henry may be an idiot but he's not that clueless." Kelly argued back
"Come on, Kelz.. can't this wait? I'm still trying to process all of this myself." I ran my fingers through my hair in frustration, I really wanted to tell Henry I really do. It's just not the right time.
"Then tell dad at least." she stared at me with a stern expression
"Oh, I'm especially not telling him."
"Dria!"
"Kelly!"
I sighed "Look, I don't want to hurt him.. it's bad enough that he's stressing about his sidekick job, I don't want to burden him with a baby."
"His baby. You say you don't want to hurt him, but by keeping this a secret, you're already crushing him." she gave me a sympathetic look "You will start showing signs soon and it's going to be harder to avoid.. so the longer you wait to tell him, the harder it will be to soften the blow when you do tell him."
I sighed again, she was right. I'm only going to hurt Henry more by waiting to tell him. In fact, Kelly and McKenzie shouldn't have been the first ones to know, it should've been him.
But I can't tell him. I'm scared that he might not want the baby and makes me put it up for adoption. Or worse, he files a divorce and leave me and the baby..
"I know you're spiralling." Kelly spoke up, which made me snap out of my head "If you really want to wait, then wait. It's your decision when you want to tel him, and I can't control you for that."
My gaze softened "Thank you, Kelly."
She brushed a strand of hair out of my face "But you have to tell him soon. Before it becomes obvious that you're pregnant."
"I can try."
Kelly stared at me.
"Okay, I'll tell him soon!" I smiled cheekily
"You better."
