BCM: What prompted you to start writing on Wattpad and what is one thing you find valuable about the platform?
cassandrejanvier: I love the idea of sharing my writing with people other than my friends and my lovely cousin who always reads anything I write. It's exciting to know that the stories I create have reached places where I have never been before!
What I like the most about Wattpad is the sense of community and being able to interact with my readers in the comments.
BCM: How did you discover the Bootcamp Mentors and what have you found most valuable about this Wattpad community program?
cassandrejanvier: I discovered BCM in 2023. I don't really remember how to be honest. Maybe someone I follow posted an announcement about it.
The most valuable thing about this program is to receive guidance from people whose writing journey is far more advanced than my own.
BCM: What motivated you to write the story you're working on with your mentor?
cassandrejanvier: It's really hard to say. I think I just wanted to write something different than what I usually do while still trying to appeal to a specific niche. I also wanted to give my home country a good spotlight and "Take One More Step" was the perfect opportunity to do that.
BCM: If you had to describe your story in three words, what would they be?
cassandrejanvier: Healing. Heartwarming. Funny.
BCM: Tell us one thing about your writing process that has helped you the most.
cassandrejanvier: Following Abbie Emmons on YouTube and binge watching her 3 Act Story Structure Series. If I ever get published I will send her a dedicated copy of my book because she has helped me so much in improving my writing process.
