The tension in the air was suffocating. Izzy sat on the edge of the motel bed, her eyes glued to the small, outdated television set that flickered with static before revealing the news anchor's face. This was it. The moment they had been waiting for. The truth about their families was about to come out.

Damian stood by the window, his gaze locked on the streets below, watching for any sign of movement. He had been on edge since they left the journalist's office, knowing that once the information went public, they'd be hunted like animals. His fingers twitched at his sides, his muscles coiled with tension.

On the screen, the anchor's voice rang out, and Izzy's stomach clenched.

"We have breaking news tonight involving two of the city's most powerful families, the Rossi and Valenti empires. Exclusive documents have been leaked, exposing years of corruption, illegal dealings, and offshore accounts tied to both families. This explosive revelation is shaking the foundations of the city's power structure..."

Izzy's breath hitched as the camera cut to the journalist, Harris, standing in front of a courthouse, holding up the files they had given him. His voice was calm but filled with the gravity of the situation.

"These documents reveal a network of blackmail, extortion, and illegal acquisitions that have allowed the Rossi and Valenti families to control much of the city's financial and political landscape. The offshore accounts alone are worth billions. This is only the beginning of what could be the largest criminal investigation this city has ever seen."

Izzy's heart pounded in her chest, her palms slick with sweat. It was out. The truth was out for everyone to see. There was no turning back now.

Damian turned away from the window, his face a mixture of relief and dread. "It's done."

Izzy stood, her legs shaky as she walked over to him. "Now what?"

Damian's eyes were dark, his expression hard. "Now we run."

She swallowed, the gravity of his words sinking in. They had planned for this moment, but now that it was here, the reality was even heavier than she had imagined.

The news coverage continued, and the weight of the revelation hit the city like a bomb. There would be no coming back from this. The Rossi and Valenti empires were about to fall, and Izzy knew her father wouldn't go down without a fight.

"We'll go to Tony's," Damian said, pulling on his jacket. "We need to regroup, figure out our next move."

Izzy nodded, grabbing her bag. But as she slung it over her shoulder, something cold and sharp settled in her gut. She couldn't shake the feeling that this was far from over-that their families weren't going to sit idly by while their lives were torn apart.

The moment they stepped outside the motel, the cold night air bit at their skin, but it did nothing to calm the storm brewing inside Izzy. She clung to Damian's arm as they made their way through the back streets, their footsteps echoing in the eerie silence of the city. Every corner felt like a trap, every passing car a potential threat.

"They're going to come after us, aren't they?" Izzy asked quietly, her voice laced with fear.

Damian didn't answer right away. He knew the truth. Their fathers wouldn't stop-not until they were either silenced or dead. But he couldn't say that to her, not now. Not when they were so close to escaping.

"We're going to be okay," he said, though the words felt heavy on his tongue. "Tony will help us get out of the city. Once we're gone, they won't be able to touch us."

But Izzy wasn't sure she believed that anymore. Her father had spent his entire life building an empire, and he would do anything to keep it from crumbling. And Damian's father? He was ruthless. Once he learned that his son had betrayed him, there would be no mercy.

As they rounded the corner, Tony's building came into view, the dark windows and crumbling brick walls giving the place an almost foreboding feel. Damian led the way, his hand never leaving Izzy's as they approached the entrance.

But just as Damian reached for the door, it swung open on its own.

Tony stood in the doorway, his face grim, his eyes tired. "You two need to get in here. Now."

Damian exchanged a glance with Izzy before stepping inside. Tony shut the door behind them, locking it with a quick snap.

"They're already looking for you," Tony said, his voice low but urgent. "I've got eyes on the streets. It's only a matter of time before they figure out where you are."

Damian's chest tightened. He had expected this, but hearing it out loud made the danger feel even more real. "Do you have a way out?"

Tony nodded, moving toward a table covered in maps and papers. "I've got a route planned. It'll take you through the back alleys and out to the city limits. From there, I have a contact who can get you across the border."

Izzy's heart pounded in her chest. "Across the border? You mean we'll have to leave the country?"

Tony's eyes softened slightly. "It's the only way to keep you safe, Izzy. If you stay here, they'll find you."

She swallowed hard, the weight of his words pressing down on her. "What about you?"

Tony shrugged, his expression unreadable. "I'll be fine. I've survived worse."

Damian's jaw tightened. He didn't like the idea of leaving Tony behind, but he knew there was no other choice. "How soon can we leave?"

"Tonight," Tony said, pointing to the maps. "The longer you wait, the harder it's going to be to get out. They'll lock this place down within hours."

Damian nodded, his mind already working through the logistics. "Alright. Let's move."

But before they could take a step, there was a loud, sharp knock on the door.

Izzy's breath hitched, her heart leaping into her throat. Tony's eyes narrowed as he reached for his gun, his body tensing.

Damian pulled Izzy behind him, his own hand going to the knife strapped to his belt.

"Stay quiet," Tony hissed, moving toward the door.

The knock came again, louder this time, more insistent.

"Tony!" a familiar voice called from the other side. "It's Luca. I know you're in there."

Izzy's blood ran cold, and she could feel Damian stiffen beside her. Luca had found them.

Tony's face darkened as he turned to them. "Get to the back room. Now."

Damian grabbed Izzy's hand, pulling her toward the small room at the back of the apartment, his heart pounding in his chest. He knew what was coming. Luca wasn't here to negotiate. He was here to end this.

The door closed behind them, and Izzy pressed herself against Damian, her body trembling with fear. "What are we going to do?"

Damian held her close, his mind racing. He couldn't let Luca win. Not after everything they had been through. "We're going to get out of this," he whispered, though he wasn't sure if he believed it himself.

Outside, the sound of voices grew louder, more heated. Luca was pushing his way in, demanding to see them. Damian's grip tightened on Izzy, his heart racing as the door to the back room creaked open.

Tony stood there, his face pale. "They're coming in."

Damian's blood ran cold, his hand instinctively going to his knife. "How many?"

"Too many," Tony said grimly, his eyes filled with regret. "You've got to go. Now."
