Iwaizumi Hajime

Misunderstanding

Today was the day.

"Dont freak out (y/n)! Just breathe." You said to yourself as walking through the halls of Aoba Joushi high school. Today was the day you confess to your crush, Iwaizumi Hajime. Just his name made your heart beat faster and faster. Ever since your first year in high school, you have befriended the hot headed ace and sadly that included Oikawa. Oikawa would bug you ever minute of every single day, he was able to figure out about your crush quickly and wouldn't let you hear the end of it. Though, what bugged you the most was that he never told you if he liked you back or not. If you asked him he would always reply,

"Now, now (y/n)-chan! You have to figure that out by yourself by confessing!" And giving you that annoying smirk of his. It annoyed the hell out of you that he wouldn't tell you. I mean, if he didn't, Oikawa just set me up for rejection and that would be terrible! But he wouldn't do that! Right? I mean if he was telling me to confess then maybe thats his way of saying Iwaizumi does like me!

"Yeah! Stay positive (y/n)!" You shout in the empty hallway, school just ended and you wanted to confess before Iwaizumi went to volleyball practice. You kept repeating that line over and over again and soon enough you were by the gym.

"Ok! Remember, stay positive (y/n)!" You said one last time. "Positive about what (y/n)-chan?" Oh no not Oikawa. God please anyone but Oikawa! "N-nothing Oikawa! I u-um was j-just s-standing here! Haha." You awkwardly say while blushing. And here we go with the stupid smirk. "My, my (y/n)-chan, you seem really nervous! Could it be your confessing today?!" God! I wanted to slap that smirk right off his face! I glare at him while blushing, "I have no idea what your talking about!"

What you didn't know was that a certain someone was watching your conversation and was feeling heartbroken, that person was none other then Iwaizumi. "What the hell is she talking to him about?!? Does she like him too? I mean she is blushing. Dammit! Oikawa gets everything he wants, even the person I like!" He thought while watching you two, he was first sad but now, now he was seething with rage, a dark aura surrounded him and terrified anyone he passed. He hurried to the club room to change and get to practice, hoping you wouldn't show up.

The whole team was nervously practicing, feeling the dark aura off of Iwaizumi, even the coach felt a little scared. "Iwa-chaaaannnn! Why do you look like your about to murder someone?" Oikawa asked,"Shut up shittykawa!" he said and glared at Oikawa. Oikawa almost passed out from fear, you where outside the gym door, wondering why Iwaizumi was acting like this. You slowly opened the door all the way and walked over to Iwaizumi.

"U-um Iwaizumi c-can I t-talk to you f-for a s-second?" You said, cursing at yourself for stuttering. He didn't look at you but slowly nodded. You two walked outside and you could hear the relived sighs from the rest of the team as Iwaizumi left. When you both got outside you closed the door and turned towards Iwaizumi.

"Iwaizumi? Are you ok? You seem mad at something." Ok good job (y/n)! You didn't stutter and started small talk! Lets keep going and I will confess when he has calmed down. "Why do you care?" You jumped back a little, surprised at what he said and a little scared by the tone in his voice, "W-what do you mean?" You could feel tears starting to swell in your eyes, "Why was he acting like this?"

"You know what I mean!" he yelled, tears stared falling down your cheek, he was starting to scare you. "You have Oikawa! Why do you need me! I saw you confessing earlier. Did you just need me to get closer to him?!" When you heard that, you where surprised but then understood. You chuckled and he looked up at you surprised at your actions, you look him in the eye and could see that he was close to tears.

You walked up to him and to his surprise, you hugged him. He was taken back by your actions and he didn't know what to do. "Your the one I like, baka." You said, it was a bit muffled but he could hear you clearly. "W-what?" He asked, shocked. You lifted your head and looked him in the eyes, "I like you, Iwaizumi, not Oikawa." You smiled at him while he stood there wide eyed. "Oh my god! Im so sorry (y/n)! I shouldn't have treated you like that!" He said realizing that he was being mean to you earlier. "Don't worry! I would have done the same if you where acting like that around another girl." You said and laughed at his red face. "Can I walk you home after practice?" He asked while looking away. "Yeah!" You agreed, while giving him another smile.

~Time Skip~

After practice, you and Iwaizumi walked home, hand and hand. It was silent but it was a comforting silence. You got at your house and turned to Iwaizumi, "U-um (y/n)?"

"Yes Hajime?" He blushed hearing you call him by his given name, "T-this means we are g-going out r-right?" You started at him and he was starting to question your reply but then you burst out laughing, he stood there confused, "Gomen Hajime!" You say while wiping tears from your eyes, "But of course it does! You are so cute sometimes!" You say while smiling, "W-whatever." He says looking away trying to hide his blush, he kissed you cheek, "See you tomorrow (y/n)." You blushed and nodded. You went inside and shut the door. You where blushing like crazy and your dad was staring at you weirdly wondering what the hell was going on.

"I got myself a boyfriend!" You yell happily

"...WHAT?!?!?!" Ugh. Dad.
