At a Vivian Westwood Boutique, Hwang Jiwon sat annoyed in the waiting room. "How much longer, Jayoung?" she groaned on the couch, frustrated. Two empty cups of lavender tea sat on the table, a testament to the time that had passed. "We've been waiting for an hour now," She mumbled as her patience thinned by every second. "Patience is a virtue, Darling," Jayoung chimed, "Which you lack."
Jiwon rolled her eyes and reached for her phone, a brief respite from the monotony. On Instagram, Jiwon found a sea of posts and article headlines about her recent rendezvous with her best friend. Well, Jayoung Anneliese Nam, to be precise. Jayoung's wedding loomed over the horizon. The wedding remained a secret between a few but had stirred curiosity among fans. Speculation ran rife as to why Jiwon was seen so frequently on a shopping haul. She made a mental note to remind her manager to clarify the situation.
Recalling the wedding date and initially underestimating the challenge, Jiwon scolded Jayoung for procrastinating on what seemed like a straightforward mission. However, she soon learned that the process was far from easy, with a myriad of dresses vying for attention before the final selection.
Luckily for Jayoung, Jiwon was a fashion expert. But she remained determined to explore every option, much to Jiwon's exasperation. The prospect of abandoning her friend crossed Jiwon's mind often. Jayoung had a clever ploy up her sleeve, though. She had planned a dinner date with Eric, an old friend and Jayoung's fiancé. Amid Jiwon's demanding schedule as an Idol, there was not enough time to spare for her best friends. She had to negotiate with the Chairman so that he would give her a month off for the wedding. Her vacation started after tomorrow. Which meant peace, away from the cameras.
Lost in contemplation, Jiwon's reverie was interrupted by Jayoung's cheerful voice, heralding the arrival of the long-awaited dress, a spark of joy danced in her eyes as she shared the news "The dress is packed, the assistant is bringing it,"
Jiwon beamed at her best friend, her heart swelling with genuine happiness as she noticed the shimmering moisture gathering in Jayoung's eyes. "I'll take it from here," she teased lightly, standing up with a playful glint in her eyes. "You might trip and end up ruining the entire dress before the big day!"
Jayoung shot her a deadpan look and, without missing a beat, flipped her off in a mock display of defiance. Fortunately, the assistant approaching them seemed blissfully unaware of Jayoung's less-than-appropriate gesture. Jiwon couldn't help but chuckle at the moment, the warmth of their friendship lighting up the store.
The assistant, a cheerful woman in her late twenties with a bright smile, handed Jayoung a large bag containing the exquisite wedding dress. She spoke with an air of authority, carefully instructing her on how to handle the delicate fabric. Jiwon, however, was only half-listening; she was convinced that Eric, the meticulous groom-to-be, would take far better care of the dress than Jayoung ever could.
Suddenly, a thought struck her. "Wait a minute," Jiwon said, her brow furrowing in concern. "If we're leaving for France on Sunday, that only gives me four days to book a ticket, right?" As they stepped out of the boutique, the automatic doors slid open, releasing a rush of cool air that contrasted sharply with the warmth inside. Jayoung turned to her with a teasing smile. "No, silly! Eric has already arranged for his private jet. We're taking off at 6 PM on Saturday."
