*Third Person POV*

As they walked, the silence between Tyler and Maya grew thicker, punctuated only by the sound of crickets and the distant hum of cars. Ava watched them, her heart heavy with guilt.

"We need to talk," Tyler said finally, his voice low and urgent. "About Luke, about you, about everything." His eyes scanned the surrounding houses, ensuring they were alone.

Maya's voice was barely above a whisper. "I know. But where can we go? Somewhere safe?" The memory of Luke's menacing smile made her skin crawl.

Tyler nodded. "My place. My dad's working late, and my mom's out of town." His grip on Maya's hand tightened.

She followed them at a distance, her anxiety building.

Inside Tyler's living room, the fireplace crackled with warmth. They settled onto the couch, hands still entwined.

"Now," Tyler said, his eyes locked onto Maya's, "tell me everything you said." His voice was calm, but his eyes betrayed his concern.

Maya recounted their conversation, her words echoing in Ava's mind: "Luke's getting desperate. He'll stop at nothing." The weight of those words settled heavy on her chest.

Tyler listened intently, his expression growing darker.

When Maya finished, Tyler took a deep breath. "We'll handle it," he said, his voice firm. "Together."

But handling it would require confronting the darkness head-on, facing Luke and his twisted desires.

A sudden knock at the door shattered the silence. Tyler's head jerked up. "Who could that be?"

Their heart skipped a beat.

"Luke?" Maya whispered.

Tyler's face set in a grim mask. "Stay here." He rose, hand on the door handle, and paused.

"Wait," Maya whispered. "What if it's Ava?"

Tyler's expression softened. "Then we'll finally get some answers."

He opened the door, revealing me standing in the shadows.

"Ava?" Tyler called out.

I stepped forward, my eyes locking onto Maya's.

"Tyler," I whispered. "Maya."

My eyes filled with tears.

"I'm sorry," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "For everything."

Maya's expression was cold.

"Why?" she asked.

I took a step forward.

"I aided Luke's plans, Luke threatened me," I whispered. "He said he'd hurt my family if I didn't cooperate."

Tyler's face darkened.

"You should have told us."

I shook my head.

"I was scared. I didn't know what to do."

Maya's voice was icy.

"You lied to us."

I nodded.

"I know. I'm so sorry."

The silence between us grew, heavy with unspoken words.

"We can't trust you anymore," Tyler said finally.

My face crumpled.

"I understand," I whispered.
