*Present*

"Evie?" I said.

"Look at me."

She hesitated.

Then met my gaze.

"Ava, I—"

With that the bell attached to the door chimed and I snapped my head in that direction. For some reason I couldn't look away, my curiosity peaked, trying to see who it was under the hood probably because of the rain outside.

He instantly took of his hood and started looking around and my heart fell to my stomach as it was Landon that had just arrived.

I didn't realize what the time was saying because I was lost in the conversation between Evie and I.
I immediately ducked under the table in an attempt to hide from him and obviously Evie noticed but she didn't know what was wrong.

"Ava?" Evie called out sounding concerned. "What's wrong? You seem lost." She said coming under the table as well probably still talking but stopped when I wasn't replying her anymore, staring at my eyes trying to read my expression like she normally does.

"Oh, Um... it's nothing don't worry" i said trying to reassure her but she obviously didn't buy it with the look she shot in my direction. "Actually there is something," I said, coming up with an idea. "Can I have your phone please, I want you to call someone real quick." I said with a sly grin at the back of my head.

My job just got way easier.

By now you should know that if I call Maya she won't answer so I'll have Evie do it for me.

I started to rub my hands maniacally. Evie raised her eyebrow in question (something I've never been able to do even after my hundred of attempts) but I shrugged it off saying I was getting cold and she nodded in understanding.

"Who do you want me to call?" She asked skeptical after my previous behavior. "Maya." I blurted out very quickly and instantly slapped my hand over my lips to cover it, but she gave me the 'why' face. I tried to think of a good enough excuse so she won't get more suspicious.

"I just want to see her, I haven't seen her or heard her voice in a while, please, just call her here and talk to her about anything, if I call her she won't even bother picking my call," I forced a tear down my cheek to make it more believable. "Please Evie, please, I miss my best friend and I know you miss her too, just call her here so I can see her. I won't talk to her nor will I walk up to her, I'll hide somewhere while you both talk. Please Evie. please." I finished letting the crocodile tears stream down my face and she pulled me into the hug still under the table and I fake sniffled to make it more believable.

"Okay." That's all she said standing up and walking out with her phone to her ear.

Yes, I'm so smart...

And dumb

How did I forget about the Maya and Landon meet up,

So stupid

"Ehem" my heart jumped as I heard a male voice speak right above me. All I could see was his nude uggs and long legs. The urge to touch his legs is something that washed over me but before I could make any move I felt a hand tap my shoulder and I hesitantly looked up. It was a boy with emerald green eyes and messy brown hair staring down at me in confusion probably wondering why I was under the table.

"Excuse me Miss, if you don't mind me asking, why are you under the table, is something wrong?" He asked but I wasn't paying attention to what he had to say, I was intoxicated by the look his emerald eyes shot at me. It felt like he was drinking me with the was he was staring at me and I couldn't help but bite my bottom lip.
