Once a week we decided we should go to the park with some of the little ones because anyone ten or above was working. Fishing, farming or collecting wood where the main jobs but some had to entertain young ones. The people there to watch today were Henry, Ingrid, Emma and me. Me and Ingrid had B-B's just in case. We were watching all of the kids. Four were on the swings. Two on the slide. Five making some loom bands. One of them came up to me. "Hewo, doo woo want a band?" I nodded. "Dis wiw make yoo wucky."

That brief exchange distracted me from the horde of kids charging. It also distracted me from the knife. "No!" Ingrid dived in front of me. The knife flew, striking her on the hip. Another flew hitting Henry of the shoulder. I looked. "Emma, take the kids!" I charged grabbing Henry. "Stand up! It only hit your arm!" He stood. I ran to Ingrid. I checked her pulse. Only light. "Come on. You can do it." The pulse slowed and slowed until it stopped. I grabbed her B-B and threw it to Henry. I hid Ingrid and ran to defend the much closer crowd.

I shouted, "Get in the car!" We ran. "You know how to drive?!" I looked straight at him. "I understand the concept."

We set off, heading to the crowd. Many dived back, the rest where pulled away. I span around, or at least tried to. I faced a shop. I thought. I hadn't thought this through. Either side of me where people. "What the hell!" I pushed my foot down. The motion sensing doors didn't open fast enough. The glass shattered, showering the car in ice like fragments. Empty shelves shattered but eventually we were through. "Well, that was cool," said Henry. We turned and speeded to the camp.

Once we got there we jumped out, I would like to stay still moving but that would be a lie. Next we ran around the path. "Emma, how are the kids?" I asked. "They're fine," she said, "Where's Ingrid?" I shook my head. She looked sad. They had been friends for a long time. "What do we do now?" Otto said, walking up to me, "Everyone knows about the attack." I thought. We needed a plan now. Not get in a car and go. "I know, use the spare planks to make some temporary bridges over the river for a retreat and set up guards for the little ones. Give Mike and Jim B-B's and get them to watch the kids. Me, you, Jamie, Jake, Ryan, Kate and Emma will go and scout ahead." Everyone agreed and one person went to get Mike and Jim. "Let's go!"

We kind of set up ourselves in an arrow formation. We all looked back. Everyone ten and above grabbed weapons and formed a wall. I could just see people behind them trying to stay calm. I could see Théo and Scarlet sitting with each other, Théo was writing in a small 'detective log' with a kitchen knife on his lap and Scarlet was making something. I twisterd. Nothing. I turned and left.

We made our way forward. Eventually we saw them. Otto climbed a tree. Emma hid in a bush. Jake and Ryan hid behind a house and Kate and Jamie positioned themselves in some windows. I walked up to them.

"Ay, who are you and what do you idiots think you're doing? You just killed one of my people!" They all laughed. One large person came up to me. Behind him was a small boy. "Do you actually think I care?" I raised my B-B. "Do you think I care!?" He stepped back. "Don't you think I saw your friends? Don't you think I have guns?" I saw all of them being dragged on their knees. "You will do as I say or one will die!" he ordered, "Now, drop your gun." I did. "Take me to the other people!" I shook my head. BANG! Emma slumped to fall on the floor. "Okay," I said.

As we got closer I asked the weird 'leader' "Why do you actually need us?" He looked at me. He raised his fist. "Do you really need me to answer that?" I nodded. "Well, I live in the town next to you. We have less peeps than you. We also need food. You get it now." I nodded. I mumbled. "What?" he asked. "NOW!!!" I yelled.
