Completed in 2006 at a cost of £150 million, the Beetham Tower in Manchester, is the highest building in Manchester. And if you looked right at the top you could just make out a dome that wasn't normally there. We dived in and prepared for the worst. The first floor was fine but with 50 floor to go we went to the lift. Giselle walked first and pulled open the door and we heard a click. The explosion shattered all the windows and sent Giselle flying backwards and impaling her against a pile of metal rods on a truck by the front. The lift doors span around smashing against the desk at the front. Henry was first to react. "Nooooo!" he yelled. Giselle's corpse was almost unrecognisable. It was at this point when the rest of the cars appeared. "Oh God, what happened." Otto said, followed by about ten other people. "We've got to go on." I said, raising my rifle. I ran up with a few others following suit. We ran up stairs like people possessed.

On the 30th or something floor, our tiredness kicking in some stopped. Otto ran ahead but waited. "Come on." He said, leaning on the rail. But the rail gave way and Otto fell 30 floors hitting his head or feet every second. Finally he lay crumpled at the bottom in a heap. I tapped one of the other rails and sure enough it fell. This must have been weeks in the planning. But I guess they must have been able to before the pause. We carried on up the stairs, tears still running down our faces from exhaustion an sadness. We neared the top and all was fine. We opened the door, Tomas ran out first and was greeted with a shotgun blast fired by Konnor. We all raised our guns and I shouted, "Stop. How can we stop the pause? Can we kill Greg or something?" He shook his head. "We have to kill all of you and you all have some xylophine in you. It has been encoded in you, the pause, and the only way is if you ALL die." I thought. "How about," I started, "If one of us got load of xylophine?" I said, seeing the pile net to him. "Would 100% work." He worked out in his head. "One person would need 135%." Henry asked, furious at him, "That doesn't exist?" Konnor explained. "It's thought that if you used enough you brain would make more cells quicker and hence the 135%. But it would kill you. And to get maximum you need to fear for you life as that is when you brain works most." "Fine." I said stepping forward. Do it to me." He thought. "But the fear, you could, you could." he paused (the sentence), "I've got to throw you off the roof." I summoned as much courage as possible. "Right."

He prepped me after pumping me up with xylophine. "When your brain works it will ONLY un-pause everyone and you will hit the floor and die, remember to keep on thinking 'un-pause'. There's just one thing you have to remember. This is crucial." "Yes." I said. "You must..." He pushed me over the edge.

I fell, screaming. All my head could think was AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I tried to focus. I wish it could go back to normal.  I wish it could go back to normal. I wish. I made impact.
