A few days later I walked to the trial. We decided that we were going to be fair so gave him a defence 'lawyer'. We didn't think he would win. One kid, Jim, was the judge. He sat on a large chair we 'liberated' from a house. About ten feet away stood Martin, surrounded by four guards. Then behind him was the audience. In the time after the murder a few more cars of kids had arrived. We weren't anywhere near the number we originally had but we were doing fine. We weren't  running low on food (we were near a farm) and everyone was good. Some who knew Shannon were angry and wanted him dead (Giselle however just wanted him imprisoned). As the trial ended I noticed a stirring of people. Something was about to happen. And it would be bad. I looked behind me and so did many others. It was a group of kids running holding a rope, among the kids was Mike (he was the one holding the rope). A few of the kids held BBs and threatened the guards. They grabbed Martin and ran off yelling, "KILL HIM! STRING 'IM UP".

Everyone was shocked so it took us a while to react. Jim ran, soon followed by me and Otto. We all pilled in to a police car, parked at the top of the hill for emergencies. Otto drove. Not knowing which way to go we drove for about 10 minutes until we found them. They had gone to a dilapidated house and on one of the top windows they had strung a noose. One of them walked Martin to it. I remembered once in Cornwall that we saw a fake hanging (with a dummy) and the guy there went into great detail of how hanging works. The drop would tighten the rope and snap the... never mind. He also said that if you just dangled you would slowly die in pain. And that's what would happen to Martin. I sprinted up to the first person. BB ready I hit him on the head. The next guy squared up. And landed a punch on my nose. All went black.

I woke laying on a stretcher surrounded by Otto, Giselle and Arnold. "Woah, what happened?" I asked. "Well, you got knocked out." My hand raised feeling the large lump on my head. "Yeah, but after that?" Everyone looked to the floor. "Well, Martin didn't make it. Mike and the others are fugitives." I nodded. "The thing is, we have no laws so, technically they haven't done something everyone thinks is bad." I sighed and sat up. "Then lets make some." Otto ran off to get some paper and a pen and when he got back, with Henry, we began. After much deliberation we came up with this:
