I woke up hearing the banging sounds on my front door. I checked my phone.
"9:33 am"
I realized that it might be Lena. I pushed myself off the ground and walked towards the door to open it.
“Hey ! You're awake.”
“Yeah thanks to someone” I replied. She made her way in without any awkwardness as if she lived here for years. “What should we start with?” she asked. “Do we really have to do it?”
“Yeah we have to. Your hell hole is rotting.”
I rolled my eyes. “Kitchen.”We made our way to the kitchen. She started off with the dishes without asking any further questions. She was washing them with bare hands.
I quickly made my way to the cabinet to grab the gloves and handed it to her. She just accepted it with her ebullient smile. I observed her for a while then started mopping the kitchen floor.
We finished off with the rotting kitchen in an hour and made our way to the bathroom. For some reason we kept working with tranquility when she suddenly broke the silence.
“Look at the mirror, it's shining!” she exclaimed after the final stroke of wiping. I looked in the mirror and stared at our reflection, perceiving both of us.
We looked really different from each other.
She had wavy ginger hair falling below her shoulders, almond eyes, a mole under the right eye, caramel skin and a fatal smile. Whereas me, short straight black hair, hooded eyes, paler skin and hardly had a smile. She looked back at me and said “I know that you are not fond of me but staring right into my soul is kinda creepy.”
I returned back into the bathroom from my thoughts. I replied leaving the place, “I think we are done here, let's go to the living room.”
I heard her grinnings from behind as a reply.
3 hours later, we were finally done with all the cleaning. We lied down on the mat exhausted.
“See cleaning up isn't that hard, you need to do it often".
“Yeah I guess.” I replied.I wandered my eyes around the room. It looked much better and much more of a place a human would live in. Everything looked fine except the half torn of wall papers.
I glanced beside me as I heard little snores. She was fast asleep. Sure it wasn't that hard. I realized I should feed her something before I can kick her out.
Thirty minutes later I was done plating the food on the table. I made my way to the living room where she was sleeping.
“Hey! Wake up.” I called her out. She was in a deep sleep. I used my foot and pushed her back as she rolled over the mat and finally opened her eyes. “What do you want?” “I want you to leave.”
She pushed herself off the floor, still half asleep trying to find the door to leave.
“I've prepared some food, eat before you go” i said looking at the not so interesting wall.
“Finally some food!” She smiled as she hopped her way towards the table.I watched her eat, smiling while complementing the food. As we were done i picked the plates and put them into the sink when i heard her saying something from the living room. I couldn't understand her so I made my way to the living room when I realized that she had already left.
At that moment I didn't know if we would meet again but I really hoped we did.
