"You're free to go, ma'am," the officer announced loudly, his keys jingling as he pulled back the rusted bars, holding them wide open. The metallic clank echoed in Ivy's ears, a stark reminder of her 48-hour confinement, all because Joy had snitched on her for assault. The irony of it all was almost laughable—she had more than enough money to bail herself out, but she chose to stay.

Ivy wanted to feel the weight of her actions but also needed an escape from reality and the outside world. She stayed lost in her thoughts, ignoring the police officer until he roughly shook the bars to snap her out of it. Ivy finally came back to reality, looked up at the officer, and stood up from the hard bench, eager to dust herself off, but she couldn't due to the handcuffs. She rolled her neck, joints popping in a satisfying release as she let out a low moan. As she walked out of the cell, she gave it one last look and let out a laugh, realizing how absurd her life and actions had become.

"Where are my belongings? My purse should still be here since I came in with it. And can you please take these handcuffs off of me?" Ivy demanded, her voice sharp and unwavering. She nodded down at her wrists, the metal cuffs digging painfully into her skin. The officer, momentarily taken aback by her assertiveness, paused just as he was about to escort her to the main hallway. Impatience radiated from Ivy, her eyes burning with frustration.

Ignoring her request, the officer turned on his heel and walked away, leaving Ivy standing with another guard. She glared at his buff figure, her breath coming in short and impatient. The seconds felt like hours as she waited, the tension in the air thick enough to cut with a knife. Finally, the officer returned, her belongings in hand that were wrapped up in a plastic bag, and Ivy's gaze softened ever so slightly.

"I'll take those handcuffs off before we get to the floor," the officer said, walking closely behind her as they moved down the hallway. Ivy rolled her eyes discreetly, quietly making her way forward until they finally reached the door. She let out a sigh of relief and quickly turned to face the officer, extending her wrists. He took hold of them and pulled out a small key to unlock the cuffs. One wrist was freed, then the other, and Ivy exhaled in relief, immediately massaging her sore wrists before taking the plastic bag from him.

Without saying another word, Ivy pushed the door open herself, refusing their assistance, and stepped into the main room. Her eyes immediately locked onto Raegon and Ax sitting there. All three of their faces lit up with a mix of relief and joy. Ivy quickly crossed the room, throwing herself into Raegon's embrace. "Rae, I never want to do that again. I missed you so much," she whispered, her voice trembling as tears began to well up in her eyes.

"I missed you too, V! Next time, I'm bailing you out with my own money!" Raegon exclaimed, her voice thick with emotion as she clung tightly to Ivy, placing gentle kisses to her forehead. Tears streamed down her face in a dramatic display of relief. Meanwhile, Ax scrunched up his face, a mix of amusement and disgust crossing his features as he watched the two of them weep together.
