Gilly's P.O.V

Finally! My birthday was here!

I was finally 16, and now Jax could finally stop bragging about how he was 16 and I wasn't!

Seriously, if he did it one more time I would have to pull out my bow and arrow, and- Fiddlesticks!

BLAM!

BLAM!

BLAM!

"I hate you," I muttered as Ollie did a little victory dance.

"You're just saying that because you're jealous!" He stuck his tongue out at me like a 5 year old.

"Whatever," I waved his comment away, "I'll just go back and revive, then I'll be taking you out."

He gasped. "On a date? That's so thoughtful of you, Gilly!"

I rolled my eyes, before speed-walking back to my recharge station (the place we were at had the stupidest rule of no running).

I quickly revived, then stealthily slipped behind on of the large rock walls, trying not to be seen. Right before Ollie got me out, I had managed to hit Kayla, but she would be back by now.

I bent down low as I tiptoed towards the other side of the room, but the place looked strangely empty. Everyone else had to be where I was going.

This place was big, by the way. It was almost as large as the ballroom at RA, and that really said something. Rock walls were placed all around, to act as hiding spots, though some had holes that you could shoot through. This place was top notch laser tag, one of the best in all of Enchantasia.

How did I pay for it? Glad you asked! I didn't.

This was Jax's idea. And the thing is, if I had known earlier, I would've immediately shut it down, since this place was so expensive, but he quite literally blindfolded me on the way here, so I didn't know where I was until we were already inside.

And well, if we were already here, it would be a waste of money if I left, right?

Anyway, as I creeped through the room, a flash of black rushed by me.

Jocelyn.

I quickly followed- well, as quick as you can go without running, and found her near a corner of the room, totally unaware of me sneaking up behind her.

By the time she turned around, it was too late. I hit her 'armor'.

She said nothing, simply scowling, before stalking off. I smirked to myself, before realizing that now I had to go all the way back the way I was going, as I had gotten off course chasing her. My feet were sore from all the walking- did I mention how huge this place was?- and my knees felt like they were about to buckle from below me. But I couldn't accept defeat.

I looked up at one of the screens, which read 7 more minutes until the game was done. I sped off, ignoring the No Running rule, and soon found myself facing the back of a boy with curly corn-blonde hair, who was standing in front of Hayley.

Hayley immediately spotted me, but I lifted a finger to my lips in the universal sign for 'shhh', and she seemed to understand.

Jax aimed his laser gun, and the sound of the laser being shot sort of echoed. Her 'armor' turned red, and she sighed in defeat.

As she passed me, she mumbled, "Good luck, Gilly. He's pretty good at this game."

What she didn't know was that I didn't need luck. I had a plan.

Jax's P.O.V

I heard Hayley whisper to someone as she walked away, and quickly turned around, my eyes widening when I saw who it was.

"Oh, hi Gilly," I managed, slightly nervous. I was good at this game, but my girlfriend was definitely better.

"Hi Jax," She smiled sweetly. I narrowed my eyes suspiciously.

"What are you planning?" I asked cautiously, "You have this evil glint in your eye."

"What?" She feigned innocence, "I dunno what you're talking about. I'm just a girl who wants to see her boyfriend!"

I rolled my eyes at her act, trying hard not to smile. "Whatever it is, just get it over with. Get me out, or something." I held my hands up, like I was surrendering- which, technically I was. I was expecting her to raise her gun and shoot, or call somebody over so they could witness my humiliation, or anything that made sense, anything that was Gilly.

What I didn't expect was for her to walk over to me and calmly kiss me.

Welp, I thought, I guess this is what she means when she says to expect the unexpected.

I didn't really know what to do. Do I pull away? Do I shoot her? Do I just accept this as my fate?

I did the third option, mostly because I did enjoy kissing her. It kind of reminded me of our first kiss, maybe a month or 2 ago (Accidentally wrote 'maybe a day or 2 ago' the first time😭✋).

We had been out for a midnight fly with our favorite pegasus's, Mighty and Macho, when they suddenly stopped on the roof. We both tried telling them to go, but they just wouldn't budge. Eventually, they just laid down on the roof and fell asleep, leaving me and Gilly stranded a Bajillion feet up.

Well, one thing led to another, and pretty soon we were confessing. Crazy, right? Anyway, the kiss we shared only lasted a second or 2- nothing like that one that was happening right now- but they still felt the same.

Suddenly, I felt Gilly's hand- the one with the gun- find it's way to my back, where my 'armor' was. I pulled away a second before she pulled her trigger.

BLAM.

I considered cursing her, before deciding that it would eventually end up in an insulting battle, which would be even more embarrassing for me than this.

Suddenly, a ringing sound filled the room. Time was up.

I sighed. "Well played, Thief. You stole my chances of winning."

"Some things never change, huh?" She grinned, before heading towards the exit, where the rest of our friends had gathered.

"I'm assuming Gilly got you out," AG tilted her head, obviously holding back a smile. I looked down at the red on my armor.

"How'd you guess," I sighed, before exiting the room, temporarily blinded by the bright lights.

Now, let me tell you this, Gilly will never let this go.

Like, 10 years later

I was right.

Thanks for reading this! Honestly kind bad, and it could've been longer, but honestly I had to write this out in 15 minutes (homework really does suck), so I don't think this is too bad for that.

Love you, bye! <333
