No POV
Amity was embarrassed, she wanted to curl up into a ball and just die. Luz was mildly concerned, but otherwise she was just giddy to be living with her new friend. "Hey Ams! Your phone's ringing!" Luz called, "Here ya go!" Luz handed her the phone, seeing the contact name, her heartbeat quickened and she felt faint. Amity snatched the phone out of Luz's hand, "Woah, you got some quick grabbers!" Luz exclaimed, making crab pincers with her hands.

Amity flushed again, picking up the call and rushing to the bathroom. "Hello Mother, is there a problem?" Amity asked, quickly composing herself, "No Amity, I was just checking in. Have you unpacked yet?" Odalia said, "Yes Mother, I have." "Good. I've made a deal with a nearby church for you to attend mass on Sundays." "Thank you Mother, is that all?" "Don't rush me, Amity." Odalia snapped, her tone growing cold, "I hope you find a nice man to marry, hopefully Mormon like us, but a Catholic will do." Amity sucked in a breath, "Alright Mother, Thank you again." "You are welcome, Amity. See you at thanksgiving."

The line went dead. Amity felt her knees give out, she let herself collapse on the bathroom floor. Five quick knocks woke her up from her daze, the door quickly opened and she felt her shoulders being propped up by a pair of gentle but strong hands, "Princesa, do I have to carry you to your bed again?" Luz said jokingly, Amity smiled weakly and took the other girl's hands, leading her back into a standing position. "I got changed while you were gone, but do you want me to take off my shirt again?" Luz looked to Amity and saw her rolling her eyes while the tips of her ears were bright red. Cute.

"Oh shut up." Amity groaned, Luz grinned and put on her favorite pair of beat up red converse. Amity pulled a pair of pink and white Adidas Sambas (the og ones). She slipped them on and checked her makeup in the mirror, perfect, as usual. Luz grabbed her black canvas messanger bag and her iconic red beanie and green cargo jacket. "My car or yours?" Luz asked, Amity shook her head, "Yours. I don't have a car yet." Luz hummed in response and led her to a beat up navy 2002 Ford suv.

"Amity, meet my car, her name's Azura." Luz patted the hood of the car, "Azura? As in 'The Good Witch Azura'?" Amity gasped, "Yep. Named after my favorite show." "Books or movies, what's your favorite book or movie?"" Amity asked, "I like the books, and Volume 3 is my favorite." Luz opened the car door and Amity stepped in, Luz closed the door and slid into the driver's seat. Starting up the engine, the car let out a huff, "This car is older than me!" Luz joked, Amity giggled a bit before launching into a rant about how trash the movies were after the director retired after the third movie.

Time skip to the cafe

After a very enthusiastic talk about their favorite book series, Luz and Amity walked into The Owl House, still locked in conversation, "Hey kid!" A voice interrupted their conversation, "Eda!" Luz ran over to hug the mystery woman, who ruffled her hair. Amity felt a pang of something she could only describe as jealousy ripple through her chest. "Eda, meet Amity, my roommate!" The woman, Eda, waved and smiled, revealing a gold capped canine tooth. "Amity, this is my godmother, and the owner of this cafe, Edalyn Clawthorne." "Nice to meet you Ms. Clawthorne." Amity said, bowing her head. Eda snorted, "Kid, just call me Eda. Ms. Clawthorne reminds me of my sister." Amity tilted her head, "Clawthorne? Like, Lilith Clawthorne?" Eda nodded, "Yup, that's her. I heard she was your last coach."

Eda clapped, ending their small talk, "Okay kids, what'd ya want." Luz hummed for a bit before she said, "The usual, what about you Amity?" "I'll have what you're having." Eda shook her head, her fluffy grey mane flying everywhere, "Listen kid, I'm gonna warn you. Luz's usual isn't allowed to be served in several states." Amity shrugged, "Can't be that bad, what's the order?" "A caramel macchiato with nine espresso shots." Eda deadpanned. Amity's jaw hit the floor, "Nine shots? That's more than Skara's!" Luz scratched the back of her head and chuckled, "How are you not dead yet?" Amity exclaimed, "The grim reaper works hard, but I work harder." Luz said, shrugging.

Amity decided to go for a matcha latte and opt out on whatever caffeinated monstrosity Luz was having. Once their drinks arrived, they settled into a cozy booth near the back of the cafe. They were casually chatting when the topic switched to their soccer team, "So Coach Whispers is technically my godparent because they're married to Eda." Luz explained, "And Eda also used to play for Gravesfield but she got kicked off the team for planting stink bombs in the stadium." Amity nodded along, a tad bit confused, but still understanding most of it.

She sipped at her drink, watching Luz tell a story, her arms flying all over the place. Amity smiled behind her cup, enjoying the sight of her very animated roommate, "-nd thats when I broke a security camera with a ball, on accident of course! But I went to the field the other day and they didn't fix it yet! Oh! Hey Willow!" Luz was excitedly chattering when she noticed her best friend walking in, she jumped up and pulled the girl with glasses into a tight hug. Amity felt that feeling again.

"Amity, this is Willow, my best friend and also the best defensive player on our team! And Willow, this is Amity, our new goalie and my roommate!" Willow waved towards Amity and looked back at Luz, "Gosh, don't you look excited. Did she get her usual again, Eda?" Eda flipped her head 360 degrees and gave a slight nod, Willow sighed and took out her phone, "Please watch her, I have to make a call."

Amity nodded and pulled Luz back into the booth, after a few minutes, Willow walked back to the other two girls and explained, "I called her older brother, he's gonna pick her up and take her to the skate park." "Can I go?" Amity blurted out, Willow shrugged, "It depends on if Hunter will let you in his car or not. But you can try."
